Trouble Installing LG GSA-5160 external drive

Hi folks i recently formatted and reinstalled Windows XP on my Laptop, and when trying to reinstall my external DVD writter I'm being asked by windows for the device drivers. When I installed the drive in the previous OS, i wasn't asked for any drivers.... I looked up al LG's site but...

With what have you replaced your ASUS A7V133 fan?? (and where can i get it)

has anyone taken it out and didn't put a heatsink or a fan for replacement??? If so, have you run into any stability issues?? I don't plan to overclock my system for now..... Thanks!

IT MAKES SO MUCH NOISE YOU CAN HEAR IT TWENTY FEET AWAY!!!!!! I've taken it out and cleaned it three times now. the sucker works quietly for one week and then starts again with this awful noise. I CAN'T STAND IT ANYMORE !!!! :| Sorry but i had to get this out of my chest ;) anyone?

Why do you hate the VIA KT133a chipset...or just VIA chipsets in general

I have a KT133a based MoBo and a Soundblaster Live! here and I don't have any problems here. the only thing is to make sure you have the Live! on a PCI slot which isn't sharing any IRQ. In my A7V133, this means PCI slot 3...it depends on your Mobo. just my 2 cents!

OK, thanks for the winkey+R thing, that works like a charm for sure. however, I already have made the changes and don't have InCtrl installed, so there's no way for such a program to monitor something that's already done.... Any other way to get back the "RUN" command on my start menu?

The drivers I downloaded from SIS have all the files under one directory: WINXP\ Maybe you mean other drivers? Or do you mean that I have to extract the files of the AGP driver into an IDE directory under WINDOWS?? Please help!!

OK, I upgraded the BIOS to the latest version, made sure that the "Ultra DMA support" was enabled and rebooted to Win XP, but still the HDDs and CD on my mother's PC are set to "PIO Mode Only". I went to the SIS website and found out that there are no IDE drivers for XP no matter which SIS...
