VC++ and unix c++ ...

Well if you just cut and paste your code into a text file and send it to yourself...and then paste it into the compiler your using... as long as your code is sound, I don't see why there would be any problems.

Why will downloading through IE yield corrupted downloads?

That used to happen to me when I had dial-up. But with broadband, none of my downloads have been corrupted. Maybe it has to do with your connection?

Will Max Payne run ok with this setup?

Is Max Payne worth buying? I've heard some good and bad reviews about it. Some say it's 'same old same old' just that the slow-down thing makes the game. Or is this game really that good? And what about multiplayer value? Or replay value?

Isn't there a free-trial thing going on for 7days? It allows you to download the entire game, why bother buying when you can just download the entire thing? Unless you've got some extra cash...*shrug*

AIM Buddy Icons limited to <= 7 kb! BLARG!

You could just change the size of it by saving into a different quality using a # of gif editors. OR.. You could find yourself a new picture that you also like. PS Registry stuff isn't good to play with if you don't know what you're doing. :D

For Microsoft Visual C++ 6.0, how does one have colors for a console application? Just for example, how does one cout a simple "hello" line in colors? Can anyone show me or does anyone know of some sites I could read to learn from?

Anyone got a mirror of DOD 2.0? !!!

Well if you've got broadband... the Fileplanet transfers from Irvine, CA and Los Angeles, CA are great. I waited about 2 days to let the initial rush by. Then I just got in line. While I waited, I went and did some hwk, came back and started downloading, got about 117kb/sec. It's worth the...

Converting ICQ 2000b DB to 98a DB.

No real way to do it. ICQ doesn't keep an archive of it's older versions apparently. Only way to go back is to hope either you or your buddies have a copy of the older one. I always have a copy of my stuff...so, wasn't too bad.
