I don't think it is disingenuous when you look at my whole statement. If an app that is essentially scraping a web site to present optimized content to you, and the original web site normally contains ads, why complain when that app includes ads as well? Are we expecting that just because...

I got in on this deal as well and must say that I am really impressed with these speakers. I had mine held at FedEx so I could pick them up at lunch and not have them sitting outside all day and they survived shipping mostly intact, the only casualty was one of the spikes was missing as the tape...

I'd try a proxy.pac file rather than maintaining that list on all the PCs. You'll have to create your proxy.pac file, throw it on a web server (you may have to set a mime type for it) and then set all the clients to use that for the "automatic configuration script" here is a sample - really...

Networking with WinXP Pro...

Everyone includes Administrator/s and a deny beats an allow - so when you deny the Everyone group you are denying Administrator as well. Remove the Everyone group from the share permissions and you will achieve what you are trying to do.

Linksys BEFSR41 full/half duplex problem

If one side of a link is set for auto negotiate then the other side should be as well. There is no way to hard code speed/deplex on the BEFSR41, so you should have the computers set to auto negotiate for speed and duplex. -Dave

Can I associate 1 instance of an app with a 2nd network connection?

Are you trying to connect to the same server from two different IP addresses or just connect to 2 servers at the same time? If the latter, you can have 2 instances of mIRC running at the same time, just add a route for the second server that you want to connect to going out the second interface...

No, you can most definately have 2 default routes at once. Consider the below - Configure interface metric on Nic 1 to be 1, add default gateway pointing to FE0/0, lets say FE0/0 is 192.168.1.254. Configure interface metric on Nic 2 to be 2, add default gateway pointing to FE1/0, lets say...

There are legitimate cases where you could want 2 default gateways (i.e. if one link goes down, use the other) Best way to handle that would be to assign a higher interface metric to the secondary (less desired default gateway) NIC.

How to tell IE to use Second NIC not first nic to Surf the Web???

If you can't configure the DHCP server on the Netgear to not give you a default gateway, then go into the advanced TCP/IP settings on the both NICs and uncheck Automatic Metric and asign Interface Metrics for both NICs (1 on the NIC you want it to use and 2 or higher on the NIC you don't want it...
