    Or less drunk friends... or drink less..... hmmm .. nah. Al in all better to fall of you bike at 5 miles an hour than to drive a car while drunk... on a bike you'll usually only end up hurting yourself.

    Yup, but dedicated bike paths make it quite a bit safer. It's "OK" if you concentrate, just don't look back at the sound of you mates hitting the dirt behind without stopping 1st... or you'll end up painting the road red with your chin (like I did).

    At just over 6 feet (correction 6,23) I'm quite average in the Netherlands so most negatives are taken care of (standard bed length is 7 feet nowadays.     We don't have baggers here in the Netherlands (at least not were I shop), and even if they'd have them i wouldn't use them. I do my shopping on my bike and the bags need to have certain dimensions or they won't fit.

    I work in the center of Amsterdam. 9 mile commute, during rush-hour the bus leaves every 5 min. 35 min. using the bus (which has free Wifi) and including a 10-15 min. walk which passes about 99% of the shops I need for groceries etc. Life is good :-)
