Pretty amusing - I hadn't checked back on this since Friday. It all worked great - thanks for the suggestions - the motorcycle battery did it. It was a good effect - made to look like a shotgun blast.
By the way, if there is any doubt as to whether quoting AIM in your signature is cooler than...
Here is my costume - a shirt with a hole in the front - behind the whole is a PS1 LCD screen. On my back is an Xcam2 wireless camera. Basically, it will look like a hole has been blown through me.
I need to power it up. The camera runs off 4 AA batteries. The screen will run off 12V DC...
I am not using over the web. USB camera hooked to PC - very long USB cable. I want to see the real time video on THAT computer. No network, no web, just me looking at the picture from the USB camera.
Thanks
Thanks - but Xray vision only captures at a high rate of 10/min. Seems odd, I am really just looking for a way to view the image on the screen in real time (as fast as my camera will capture) and be able to blow up and minimize the image.
I have a USB camera that I use to check in on the baby when I am working. But I need better software for use with XP.
1. Just a window with the realtime video - no extra crap around it.
2. Easily go to full screen or to windowed view.
Thanks for the help.
I am not sure where this discussion shifted, but the site is excellent - has anyone been reading this before? Says Issue 10 above - maybe thats just another joke. Lots of subtle humor there.
Am I wrong to this site rocks? get past the shocker article (which is funny in its own way) and you get to some seriously funny stuff. I loved the bennet and embed articles and news below is great. Maybe it just makes sense to someone who reads the news all day and knows what the Weekly...
I assume you are the kind of people that don't like the onion or never read spy magazine. I think its excellent. Get past the shocker part - the photo was funny but kind of easy. Read the Bennett and embed articles and show me where you can find better political humor on the net (or even in...
Thanks for all the "positive" advice - did and it worked great. I had the dry ice in a container surrounded by handwarmers. The container was strapped to the small of my back and covered by part of my costume. I used extra fishtank air tubing to snake the smoke around (the smoke is not cold...
My house is wired for two phone lines, but I only use 1 (for phone and DSL). I remember I saw a tutorial about running ethernet over an nextra phone line somewhere. Basically just splicing the RJ45 into the phone line.
Can anyone point me in the right direction? I can't find it anywhere -...
As part of my costume, I want dry ice fog to come out of my pants legs (and maybe shirt cuffs).
I was thinking of a hidden bladder/container on my lower leg, and tubing running out my legs and up through my body to my arms.
Couple of questions:
1. What does the bladder need to be made of...
I have an 8.4" touchscreen that I amaking a custom enclosure which will slide into and out of a single DIN enclosure in my car.
So I have cut a plexiglass back wall on which I was going to mount my VGA controller, inverter and touchscreen controller. Everything is separated from the plexiglass...
Can anyone help me - I really don't want to start this up and fry some very expensive components. I have also put a metal backing on the screen, so it should be rf shielded, but I still need to to know if I have to shield the inverter to prevent arcing. Thanks.
I am building a plxiglass case for an 8.4" touchscreen for use in my car. The "case" I am building consists of a plexiglass piece of equal size to the screen mounted behind the screen with less than 1" separation. Inside this space mounted to the plexiglass is the touchscreen controller...
I have several ELO accutouch 14" screens and ISA controllers. The 14" screen is a resisitive touch on a curved glass surface (I assume for CRT monitor use). Couple of questions:
1. Can I remove the touchscreen surface and re-mount it on a flat glass surface to use for an LCD display...
This is a pinout I got from Datalux for a 10.4" TFT touchscreen, apparently the same connector handles the video and the touchscreen. Can anyone help me identify what means what? I have a Earthvision PCI LCD card with a C&T 65550 chip. I have the data sheet for the card and the...
I have a Socket 370 board with a DFP out and a Sil154 Digital Flat Panel Interface chip - I have the data sheet for the Sil154 - can I hook a laptop TFT (the kind that are 10-12" and readily available for cheap) directly to this chip? I seem to recall that I can - any thoughts, advice or...
So I am building an in-car system. The reason I want AT is the power supply. A dc-dc power supply for AT versus ATX is close to $100 difference. I will be running a PCI vid card to the TFT monitor, a dvd drive, and a 15 gig HD. Preferably sound and lan are on-board. Any recommendations? I...
Anyone know where I can find any technical info about these? I have some questions:
Is there a more technical LCD forum I can ask these to?
Can I replace the see-through LCD screen of a panel projector for a backlit LCD? (I know I would need to know the pinouts, but what if I had the data...
All my icons are random - they come up as different things, sometimes completely disappear - very strange. Happens on desktop and in explorer. Thanks for the help.
Any initial thoughts would be appreciated. For in car mp2/dvd system. I have access to some tft laptop screens and had heard you can hook them up to a normal computer - anyone done it? Should I be looking for a specific type of laptop screen? Thanks in advance.
OK - I used the correct...
I have a monitor that goes to sleep mode when I boot up the computer and won't come out of it. I've checked all the pins and used this monitor on two different computers(and have used a working monitor on both of those). Anyone have any suggestions - seems a shame to waste a 19" monitor...
