CD Burner on 2K Server

Hm... I had a problem with my IDE burners not being recognized. I just switched burning software and they were picked up. Dunno if this helps.

my case bit me!

Wart - just smack the fan and tell it whose boss ;) I gave myself an inch long gash on my thumb while i was cutting blowholes, I've been hit by my 92 mm deltas, on the thumb and it hurts like hell!

how about this idea for cooling your system.

There are a few problems. The water would have to sit in the freezer for a little while to cool off. If it was just circulating, I'm not sure how well the heat would be removed. However, I have seen people build watercooling (and their entire system) into minifridges, which works really well...

scrolling web...=high CPU usage..

Yeah mice do weird things... mine makes high frequency noises come out of the speakers ( you can only hear it with headphones on) when i use the wheel on it. I have an Intillimouse (the cheapest one).

Watercooling vs. extremly quiet Fans

Remember though that while you browsing the internet and doing normal stuff, you can rig the 120 to a rheostat and run it at 60% power.... almost silent, and it still cools your computer!

OMG, AOL will upgrade the internet to 7.0

what does 'upgrade the net' mean? Do you mean they will be releasing AOL 7.0? If you do... AOL is crap, and should be a banned word on this forum. Any revisions to AOL are just more spyware and crud like that. Stay away from them... they are the devil.

ATi or Nvidia: What's your perference?

I agree Nvidia is a pretty impressive company. I would never want to see ATi die, however, because I think competition keeps Nvidia on its toes (and vice-versa).

Burning 12X Cd's @ 24X?

I believe 12x cds are just garanteed to burn at 12x with no problems. However, this doesn't mean you can't burn them faster then what it says, they just aren't garanteed to always work. My friend burns 8x cds at 12x with no problems. Good Luck!

Just installed Windows XP... my thoughts

I feel that 2k was much like a rough draft of a user-end operating system (I know it was designed for corporations, networks, etc) and XP took the stability of 2k and added some little tweaks to it.
