This is simular to but different to other posts....New build...
Booted on first try....Went to bios....Set to boot from CD....
Restarted....partitioned and formatted first partition...
Installed XP pro....went to windows update and downloaded
SP1....Installed SP1...went back to win...
They were $117 @ pagecomputers.com + shipping a few days ago.....UP to 147 now.
Best for the buck I have seen...I have tried them on everything...mp3 to dvd...find them
under $200...BUY them

If your CPU was boxed...I had a strange thing happen...Glad I caught it quick...The stock fan on the CPU wasn't working...I called AMD and the tech said to push down real hard in the center of the fan til it clicked...HE HE HE...I thought he was pullin my leg...Got home that night....Started...
I think Crucial ships to Canada...OOPS...Guess it is the exchange rate...Been wantin to visit but guess I can't afford it...try that anyway www.crucial.com
There is no price difference on ram at crucial, unless prices have changed in the last day or two....Get an Epox 8K7A board...DDR...Stick that chip in it...Enjoy
Just built my first AMD box....Epox 8K7A...1.2Tbird...running stock....You can't go wrong with the Epox board...Was so easy to setup that I thought I was working on my OLD BX board.
Thanks for the help....Yes I tried all 3 PCI slots....and as normal with cheap combo got no manual or driver cd
Will check IRQ's in safe mode...but won't know if it is a conflict with the NIC...cause it wont go that far
Been out of the loop for a year or two....Tried AMD for the first time....Built 1.2 box with noooo problem....but...while I was doing this it left me with an empty box....Found an oem K7M-RM asus board with 800 chip at a great price....SOOO...I put it together with lots of spare...
These guys are good...I ordered from them last week...Out of 7 items,they were out of one medium speed fan...I got email from them very fast(1 or 2 hours)asking if I would like to sub or cancel...Shipment arrived fast....Plus there in Texas.
