i think using a bootable floppy disk is the best and easiest way to flash the bios

By connectin the L7 Bridges you're actually settin the chip to run on 1.85
the L1 bridges have got to do with the CLOCK Multiplier.
Since the k7s5a does not allow you to change the clock multiplier, there are suggestions that by modifying the L1 bridges you can actually set the clock...

the official BIOS should be enough for u rite now ... what do u want to do ? dats the question ...
read thru ur system rig... mebbe get a proper sound card??

if you encounter any problems with bad floppy writes then mebbe u need to download the correct BIOS, I'm using the overclockers BIOS 010911 and it has an option to fix the bad floppy write problem in BIOS.
if u r thinkin of overclockin...
The ECSk7s5a is cheap , (relatively stable) and supports DDR ram !
Doesn't overclock well though

You can find out the name of your motherboard when u turn ur PC on... when it's doing the memory test thingy look at the first few lines above it ...
you've got a cel 500? how about overclockin it?
depending on whether your motherboard will support the newer processors, here's my take at it ...
if u really want to , make sure u get a 900 celeron, they're the new stepping ones and 'should' overclock well...
check out the stepping codes at the intel website!

Upgrades for me depends on a combination of wants and needs.
If you're a gamer with the need to push FPS's then a new 3d video card would be a logical solution.
If you need a faster processor ( dvd encoding, mp3 watever ) then go for a tbird 1ghz... or a 1.2 ghz one like my hsemate(lucky...
