Actually, after posting this I continued my search... only to find the SuperMicro 5011E.. GoogleGear has it for $529.. I noticed several lower priced ones on Pricewatch, but I'm somewhat weary of some of the vendors there... In my past experience Googlegear has been decent. Too bad Newegg...

Well, I went ahead and ordered it for the $239 price late last night.. I understand that now they've changed the coupon code that I used to be $20 off of $75...
So, I could have had it for $225... Well, I waste that much money every week, at least...
One thing I don't understand... I went...
I've seen lots of deals on this in the past several months, but I'm not seeing many deals on it now..
With the OD 20% off $50 coupon, it brings it down from $299 to $239... (Saw the linkage for that coupon on the billfold of large girth forum)
Anyone come up with any ways to spice this deal...
FYI to all in Jacksonville, FL. looking for this card.. Just went by the CompUSA in Regency minutes ago and there are two more on the shelf and one more still hidden behind the PNY video cards.
I'm still having trouble with drivers... Can anyone with experience offer any suggestions?
Tried the beta WDM drivers from Pinnacle. With these I get both Video and sound (using WinDVR), but the TV tuning stinks. About half the channels I get have static and the sound is "fuzzy". On the...
Anyone out there using the SoulForge drivers for this card... Few questions:
Did it autodetect the card when you ran the installer? (If so, which version of the installer did you run?)
I know it has the MSP34xx sound chip on it, but under advanced settings in the installer utility I don't...
I got mine today and I'm still playing with it to get it to work like I want it to.. It actually tunes pretty well, *IF* you have some decent drivers.. I'm reinstalling the OS on that machine because I had installed so many different drivers before finding the SoulForge ones that I think look...
I'll have to pick one of these up tomorrow. Went to CompUSA tonight after reading about it and they are still ringing up as 89, so I'm assuming the real deal starts tomorrow. (I sorta figured that before leaving, but wanted to at least check stock, and it's not too far away anyhow.)
To those...
Right now Winn Dixie supermarkets in Jacksonville, Fl. is selling Ribeye's for 2.99 a pound. They have a bone in them, but it's still tough to beat that price. I think their entire Jacksonville division is doing that, which covers most of north florida and south georgia.
Vladgur,
I didn't intend to talk down the deal. I agree with you that taste varys widely. To each his own.
I just looked over the dimensions, and you're right - The YY case is a little taller and a bit wider, and the Sabre is a hair deeper. It looked larger when I first looked at it...
I've been looking for a good mATX case for my DVD/Tivo PC.. This one doesn't look enough like a piece of consumer electronics gear, though, I don't think.
Has anyone tried one of these yeongyang Casper 2 cases?
Here's a Link
It looks sharp, IMHO.
