Hey all, long time no talk. Haven't been on for well over a year and wanted to say that I'm rejoining the DPAD crew. Any tips on making this project run smoothly? I remember having to create a user.txt file with my name and all that jazz, but I also recall having a servers.csv file that I could...
Greg man, my prayers are with you and your family. We are all with you brother! The best thing is that you got the heck outta there and that you are safe and sound.
Thoughts and prayers to all those who have lost loved ones or property to this disaster!
I've lost 35lbs. since mid-January and I'm reaching my goal of getting out and getting more exercise this year! It's affecting my DC habit but it's better for me personally and I should be back around here in November with a smaller waist and a better attitude on life :)
im still active just have a slow ass cruncher that only needs to upload once a week. the best thing about this project is the ability to not need a network connection for days on end and still be able to contribute results
to be honest, i dont have any problem with you being top dawg! in fact, i look forward to seeing your production on a daily basis! i wish i had the means to crank out work like that. we are very fortunate to have you as a TeAmmate and you are deserving as the top dawg for the entire year as far...
we'll see if this stands. forcing a service pack is a joke! every computer we have upgraded at work with sp2 (5 of them) without a fresh install has been an absolute fiasco. just another example of how out of touch microsoft is with consumers.
yeah i read that last night....kinda disappointing because im not so sure whats wrong with the "attitude" over here that he refers to  anyhow, not to hijack the thread, thanks for the stats Ross!
i had the same thing happen with dell! i even requested them to double check that HT was enabled upon shipping and it was not for 10 office computers :| i never understand why people hate on HT. i find it really useful and for crunching it kicks ass!
here is a link that talks a bit about windows clustering. im at work so i didnt get a chance to review it in great detail but it looks like a good read.
great find christian, i think that site should indeed be added. the more sites the better imho! i dont care for the color scheme but the info is whats important and its loaded with info!
i had major problems uploading results to z's ftp server and i sent them a few times before finally switching servers. i think they finally threw my results out as duplicates (which is entirely accurate). just sucks to see the negative number next to your name LOL :)
ive had jobs that have been delayed for 12 hours at one point. on the other hand, i had jobs that NEVER were posted to the stats site but THINK told me they were counted toward my totals even though they didnt show....there use to be a stats query page where you could write up THINK and he would...
ive never seen an issue like that before. its odd that the drives are recognized during post but the only way you can get any activity from a bootable cd is to unhook all the drives. crazy! sounds like you did about all you can do from a troubleshooting standpoint so i would just RMA as soon as...
the fact that it recognizes all devices but wont boot from them i find rather odd. ive never seen anything like that before.... especially in that when you remove all drives then (and only then) you can boot from a bootable cd....im stumped. id just RMA the board and dont waste anymore time on it.
has importing/exporting worked for you andy? ive tried it various times and it was failure. i was probably doing something wrong, but if you have advice on how to do this successfully i sure would like to hear it.
i manually load up the queues on my machines so all i do his hit "Receive" and then download as many 1QM3-Q3 jobs as possible :) if you are running a queue across a network you can probably download a bunch of them and then manually assign them to a certain PC and that should work as well.
i love these jobs! i just dumped one last night that took almost 3 days but was 12,000+ pts. im gonna try to scoop up as many as my queue will allow :)
