It's my associate's laptop. He says "nothing" has happened to it. He's currently off-site with the laptop so I'm waiting for him to come in so I can take a look at it.
in my experience, there's not much you can do once it starts because it gets worse and worse.
What I've done in the past, which seems to work is to get into DOS and transfer the files from the bad HD to another one. It seemed to work a little better than doing it via Explorer. But this...
does the laptop by any chance have a warranty still?
If you're pretty confident and have the right tools you can try to see if you can replace the fan. First, try to find a replacement fan before you waste your time opening it up.
I woudn't really mess with the processes unless you know exactly what each one is for. (I personally don't)
The only things I would mess with are any programs that may startup in the beginning automatically. You can check this by looking at what's loaded in the right hand side of the taskbar...
Well first, I would check for BIOS update, while having your 1900+ installed. After you've updated, replace the CPU and try going into BIOS.
IF that does not work:
Try this. Stick your 1900+ in there. If it boots, normally, go into BIOS and change the settings accordingly as if you had the...
Are you sure the Canon BJ-230 is network capable, because I'm looking over the manual on Canon website and it says nothing about network ready.
I know the HP 5si MX is network capable.
Either way, I dont understand. If a printer is network capable that means it's not dependent on anything...
it may because they may have commuication problems with the printserver that they are connected to. It may also be that those printers need to be serviced. One way to test if it's a printer problem is to have the problematic printer direclty connected to a computer. If it still doesn't work...
can you maybe do it after hours? Oh yeah, after you turn all of them off, leave them off for about 5 min before you start turning them on in the order that I posted.
restarting randomly and restarting in the order that I gave you is two different methods. It's your choice if you want to try it, but if you're so frustrated already, you have nothing to lose.
I'm asking for the model # of the printserver. Just so there is no confusion, a (computer) server and...
brand and model #?
Try this. Turn off the two printers and any other printers that share the same printserver. Turn off the printserver. Turn off the computer that you use to print with.
In this order turn them back on. First, all the printers. Wait 30-60 seconds. Turn on the printserver(s)...
You can try 2 things.
1: make sure you have the latest version of audio drivers and possibly BIOS for your onboard sound and motherboard.
2: Do a rollback. Right-click on "My Computer." Go to properties. Go into Device Manager and double-click on the sound card. There's a button called "roll...
It's set at Standard PC? Then I'm pretty sure that's your problem.
I know you said you can't find the setting in BIOS to enable/disable it, but I think, if you dont wanna go through the hassle of getting a new card, I would call Soyo and ask them. Enable it, and do a clean install of your OS...
Well, I can't imagine them being more then 2.5Megs at 2048x1536 which is what I have my camera set at.
Yes, the only resolution demanding application in your case would be printing. The higher the resolution the pic, the bigger you can print it without comprimising quality.
what kind of monitor do you have?
Try this. Turn your system off. Unplug it from the back. Open the case. Take out the Video Card (assuming that it's not on-board), blow into the AGP slot with compressed air to get out any dust of any sort and reinsert the video card. Blow air into the...
Well everyone's needs are different, so there isn't really a standard to my knowledge. And I don't know what Kodak's standards are.
Also, is this project for yourself?
If all you're doing is scanning in your photos then I would just scan them either 800x600 or 1024x768, basically some of the...
if you clear the BIOS, you will reset all settings. If you change your BIOS settings, you only need to save them and exit.
The only time you need to reset a BIOS is if the changes settings are not liked by the motherboard/memory/cpu and your computer won't properly bootup.
Hope that helps.
