How to put BREW stuff on a phone without BREW service ?

Just curious if anybody knows how to do this... I have a LG cellphone with 'BREW' service that allows for cool ringtones, downloadable apps - all that sort of stuff. But it's through a local cell carrier that doesn't support any of those features yet. So I can't download BREW applications...

RF modulator in my car too quiet - advice ?

Thanks - I went back and looked at the RF modulator itself, and there is a VERY tiny little wheel to adjust the volume. Cranked that all the way up, and now it's just about as loud as FM. Loud enough that I can hear it with the top down anyway. Thanks for the advice !

RF modulator in my car too quiet - advice ?

Just added a Jensen 'Sirius' satellite radio system to my '99 Mazda Miata - it comes with an RF modulator that plugs inline between the cars antenna and the stereo. Everything works fine, except that the FM modulator is quieter than the in-dash CD player, or even a regular FM radio station...

audiovox maestro pocketpc compusa $150

The Axim is a better machine - MUCH longer battery life, brighter screen, replaceable battery packs, etc. The Maestro was state-of-the-art about a year and a half ago. Still a nice machine, but the Dell is better. Trust me - I've owned them both...

Definetely a YMMV deal, but our local Sams Club (Waukesha, WI) had every Xbox game in stock at less than $30. I picked up Unreal Championship for $29.99, and Medal of Honor Frontline for $24.99. *Most* of the games still available were several months old, but these two games were just released...

It is a pretty decent player - I had one for a while. The USB 1.1 connection is a bummer, and the included PC software *SUCKS*, but the actual unit itself is nice - it also includes a built-in FM radio, which is rare... As long as you don't plan on changing the mp3's on the player too often...

Is there a soft RealTV, or TIVO ?

Check out snapstream or showshifter. Both work reasonably well, but both are products that must be purchased. Neither one works nearly as good as Tivo though. The tv-guide implementation is non-existant or poor in both, you can't set up season passes to record your favorite shows, etc...

Thanks for the info - I wasn't aware that you could do so much with a mod'ed Xbox. I'll check out the simpleFi too - just wish it was 802.11b so it would work with my existing wireless network. Thanks again for the advice everyone !

Anybody done a CD-changer install in a new Chevy Trailblazer ?

I've got a 2002 Chevy Trailblazer, and I just purchased a Sony 10-disc RF cd changer. The changer fits beautifully in the back storage compartment under the rear deck, but I can't figure out a place to get power & switched power for the changer back there. Just curious if anybody has done this...

Hot (but might be local) - Ipod 5gig $229, 10-gig $329

A local CompUSA B&M has the 5 and 10-gig versions of the Ipod on closeout, for $229 and $329 respectively. Only the 20-gig version is full price ($499). These are brand new units, and they have both Mac and PC versions. YMMV obviously - this is in Southern Wisconsin. For what it's worth...
