GA-7DXR raid question?

That board uses the light version of raid controller so you can only hook up 2 devices but it can be use as a regular ide controller, doesn't have to be raid.

Don't buy Registered and ECC at the same time, it will slow down your performance. Isn't Registered RAM slow enough? You want to get even slower ram.

bevo, I guess you should read chainbolt's posts on other board and another guy. They been using 3x256 Unbuffered sticks on their GA-DXR so far I only seen one person with the trouble. You also want to read his 3 DDR Board shootout on www.overclockers.com.au maybe that will help ya. :)

Gigabyte GA-7DXR won't run in CAS 2.5/2 mode when using 3 sticks?

My friend was telling me that mobo wont run in CAS 2.5/2 mode when you use 3 PC2100 256Mb sticks, says it works fine if 2 but not when using all 3 dimms. True?

Let me tell you guys, that this connection is not what you think it is, the bandwidth doesn't split up so more computers use more bandwidth, or atleast thats what my ISP told me.

Yes, I got a lot of data transfer of this line and all three of the computers run at the same time. I checked my last month's datatransfer status and I transferred about 250Gb. :D

if you are not an overclocker the A7M266 is the way to go. it performs a lot better than the A7A266

I was able to alter my router mac using one of the options and I replaced it with the one of the NIC they provided me cuz my Linky told what the mac address of that card was. :D they do track macs cuz the first time i put my router on it didn't work and somebody gave the idea to change my router...

Installing Linux and Win 2000 on the same PC????

ICSVortex's idea may not work with some Linux distros but its the easiest way to do it or you can create a boot floppy and don't install the boot loader, just put in the boot floppy to boot to Linux or else your box will boot to Winblows :D

ReInstall windows 98 on a Dual Boot Machine

I don't think you will lose your boot record but, it will not boot up because you will lose the necessary boot files. you can solve your problem by copying all the files from your c:\*.*, this doesn't include any of the folders like Windows/My Documents etc., and then putting them back there...

WMP won't play some AVI's?

According to my understanding, what you are trying to play might be compressed using DivX Compression, you will need DivX codec to play those .avi files. get it www.mydivx.com or search in a search engine for the codec. Hope it solves your problem.

That thing is dependent on the kind of powersupply you got or what windows detects your powersupply is capable of doing. there is nothing you can do about it in the options. :(

How good is ASUS V8200 DELUXE RETAIL for capturing?

I am interested in converting some of my VHS collection to DivX so I was wondering which capture card to get. I saw the new Asus GeForce 3 Deluxe card and it has the TV In function. How good is its capture capability? Will it beat ATI AIW sollution or atleast tie it? Any input welcome :D

but I am running 4 devices on my regular 2 IDE Controller Mobo. so if your RAID supports up to 4 then you can actually have 8 devices if you have RAID and IDE on one mobo? correct?
