Laptop can't 'see' desktop on network.

The problem appears to be with Zone Alarm on my host computer. After I shutdown Zone Alarm, I was able to connect to the internet with my laptop via the host pc's internet connection. I really want to keep Zone Alarm. How do I set it up to allow the laptop to use the host internet connection...

Sunbird, I reran the Network Wizard and I lost my connection icon on my laptop. I think the problem may lie in proxy settings, but I'm not sure. I can share folders fine. Just can't share internet. Thanks, Randy

Sunbird, I do have XP on both machines, I keep the auto updater turned on in XP. I don't see the update you are referring too. Have you got a a ms article number that I can lookup to find this update? Thanks, Randy

Anybody using Uniden wireless products?

I just bought a Uniden WNP1000 Access Point and Uniden PCW300 PCMCIA Card from Outpost.com. With rebates, I paid ~$10 for both. I was wondering if anyone is using this equipment and if so, does it work good. I think this is a great buy for wireless "b" stuff. Here are the links... pccard...

Anybody using ad-hoc wireless network?

Netgear MR814 with dialup question...

Jackmds, Would using this router as an access point be better than setting up an ad hoc network with a pc card in the lappy and a usb wireless adapter in the desktop. I want to be able to get at least 50ft away from my desktop with the laptop. Thanks for the help, Randy

It's unlikely I'll get broadband in the near future. I live in the boonies and there is no cable or dsl service here. I may get satellite internet when the prices drop. Why is an access point better than a router? Randy

Help need for flashing Cardinal #3480 modem to v.90

266mhz FSB T-Bird on a 200mhz FSB motherboard?
