HDD and Optical Drive sharing an IDE channel - any problems??

are there any performance issues? obviously ide0 would have the system hdd [as master], and [in my case a dvd] as slave. ide1 would have a burner and my data hdd. the dvd [pioneer 106s] will not function on my board [gigabyte ga-7vrx] if not on ide0 - unless i decrease cpu fsb from 133 to 100...

yeah - is it something to do with transfer speeds when sharing? are there any performance hits? cause apparently i can get this dvd drive to work on my board on ide1 if i change my cpu fsb from 133 to 100? i could then run both opticals off ide1 and boths hdd off ide0. would one option be...

yep, i have 2 hd's and 2 optical's. the thing is apparently my type of dvd drive [pioneer 106s] won't run on the ide1 channel on this board. so i'm guessing i can have my system hd on ide0 as master and the dvd as slave. my data hd on ide1 as master and my cdrw as slave. sound feasible?

hello, how do i go about changing my hd's from ide0 to ide1, and my dvd/cdr from ide1 to ide0. is it a hardware or bios thing? dvd won't run on ide1. thanks in advance Jas

Pioneer OEM 106S DVD - system won't boot?!?!

A7V133 - RAID 0 - bizarre format problem - PLEASE help...
