Permissions problem on server folders - WHS 2011

Used to run an Asus G router with DD-WRT, now have the RT-N66U and stock firmware. Poked more, and looks like this permissions issue is on more than just one folder. And it's messed up enough that even the Admin account is getting access denied errors trying to create/delete files. I tried...

So I bought a new proc and mobo today to replace the dead mobo in my server. New stuff is an AMD Phenom II Black X2 560 and a MSI 785GTM-E45 board. Set it up... and nothing. Well, almost nothing. Fans spin, lights (in fans and power light on mobo) come on, hard drives spin up. But that's it...

1. I hooked the OS drive from the server up to my desktop and ran chkdsk on it. Passed with no errors, so I don't think there's a disk issue. I guess it's either psu or mobo. Since a new psu made it BETTER but not fixed, think a better new psu would fix it all the way? Given that I need to...

can all the USB ports on my mobo die at once?

It does have some overclocking in the bios, but I haven't done that yet. It's fast enough for everything I'm doing, so I'd rather not risk the stability. I stayed with the same mobo so that I didn't have to reinstall anything. The computer was just built in Dec, so I didn't wanna start over :)

Tried booting knoppix - putting in a thumb drive did just like in windows - LED on drive lit up, but nothing popped up in the OS. Guess it is hardware after all.

Dell "De-crapifier"

That may not be Dell's fault - we have Optiplex's at work and they take about 5 min (literally) to get from login to desktop due to all the IT-installed security, drive mapping, rights-lockdown, etc. There's no Dell-installed crapware on there, it's a custom image (fortune 500 company)

Just tried that, still no luck. Tried with both PSUs and multiple arrangements of fan connectors (mobo has 2 headers, I always ran it w/ the HSF on one and the tach cable from the PSU on the other)

Drive Image

Yep - you'd need a program like Norton Ghost or other drive image software. And the image will be the size of the total used space on your drive, unless the program does compression, in which case it could be smaller.

My comments about noise were while gaming - during normal windows usage, it's pretty quiet. Still louder than my HSF or PSU, but not bad. I can only hear it because the computer is currently ON my desk instead of under it while I get things installed...

I picked up a 7600GT from ZZF (the MSI branded one) last week. It's nice and fast, a definite upgrade from my unlocked 6800 (switched from a AGP comp to PCIE, so it's hard to really compare directly given the new CPU and everything). As for noise... well, it's the loudest thing in my machine...

Bracket sure appears to be - the rubber part is between the board and the metal x. all four screws are turned very snug, but not so far that the x is touching the back of the board anywhere...

Yes, the 2.0 listed at compaq is still a williamette. I don't plan on buying from compaq - they want almost $400 for that proc! I've found the 2.6 400fsb for around $140 online and that's what I'm leaning towards...
