i was at the announcement today, it was really cool. The technology got lots of applause but what drew the loudest applause was their willingness to give 5mb service (with a $300 install fee) away for free and that they will be hooking up public services (fire stations, librarys, schools...)...
girlfriend is moving in before probable engagement and going to school so she will have student loan money for 'living expenses'.
i can float us both but was thinking that if she pays $xxx/month from her student loan money for 'rent', i can stick that money in other investments for a few...
i used to be a bouncer in college...fun days
one of my buddies is a project manager on one of the odyssey boats (treasure quest show on discovery). he'll spend 4-6 weeks at sea and then be back for 3-4 weeks. would think it'd be cool to be in marine salvage.
rumor floating around was that he has the herp. i guess some of the medications you take for that have synthetic testosterone and the shit storm started when the results got leaked before they could clear it through his medical team. i can understand why he would go through an appeals process...

this is actually gaining steam...if true there will be some law suits flying around related to HIPPA
from my perspective, this is one of the joys out of being an atheist. still enjoy going to weddings, first communions, and so on. i'll read in them, its no skin off of my back and its not 'going against my beliefs'. its their beliefs and doesn't require me to believe them at all to do...
without starting the big 'pay off loan fast vs. keeping a loan until retirement' debate, its because i can afford it and its not much more than my current payment
So I am refinancing my condo. i bought it as a foreclosure back in 2008 and have since put about 20k into renovations since due to the previous owner trashing it on the way out. when they asked me what i thought it was worth, i just kind of added up what i had bought it for + what i had put...
hang out with a pretty socially drinking group. we proably drink 5 nights a week. usually having 4 at a minimum. 8 on a longer night. who knows how many on those once a month 'i hate myself in the morning' days.
this whole comparing it to stealing from a bank is crazy. nothing was stolen. this is more like someone leaving their paycheck on the table and someone takes a gander at it while sitting around the table. while they possibly know a bit more about you than you'd like, it in no way would be...
thanks. assuming he does training in GA and the permanent duty station is in italy, can they live together in italy if they are married or as a low ranking soldier, is he required to live in a barraks like situation on base?
not kidding, i dont think she has really had a reality check on this yet and may be just avoiding doing any research to stay in denial.
basically its sounding like its going to be expensive for her and not likely they will be able to live together
thanks. i'll ask her here in a bit to clarify. he is finishing up basic atm. i was surprised to hear he'd be doing his training over seas so she may just not have asked the right questions on training/duty station.
one of my friends found our her boyfriend will be stationed in italy for airborne school and is planning on moving there with him. i am not entirely convinced thats possible from what i could find. if getting married solved their problem they'd do that but even still its sounding like unless...
yeah, i think i was reading that as part of the agreement KCP&L in missouri was going run most of the fiber above ground on their telephone poles. something like 80% of the fiber runs will be above ground.
thanks for the info. under this press release, it sounds like we can easily get out of it, its just a chance that time warner could come and pull and the cables if they desired.

so onto the first question...would fiber be...
So, Kansas City, MO has been selected for the google fiber project and i have a couple questions on how this may be rolled out for anyone familiar with how and IPS may go about something like this.
first off, would fiber need to be run to each individual unit or would fiber be run to the...
is there a way to get something like:
cd $idontexist/
to not go to /
?
for the sake of simplicity, have users who keep doing:
cd $goheree/ instead of cd $gohere/ and end up in the root directory instead of where $gohere is defined. sometimes you can't fix stupid but you can at least make...
i had mine in an ER. my dad said it was fine to let some newbie do it while the ER doc supervised (family friend). newbie missed twice and finally the ER doc did it. it hurt like hell but at that point i didnt care much as the drugs had started to kick in
i would use it as my primary residence for a couple years as i have 2 years to complete the project for federal tax credits and it obviously has to go through a ton of pre approval and post approval steps.
i would not be replacing all the windows, actually adding them. in its former life...
ok, so i am looking at this fantastic old property in missouri that is on the national historic property registry and supposedly there is a 20% federal and 25% state tax credit for restoring historic properties. I guess i am just confused as to how the credit works. I know i'd have to use it...
yeah, i got both of mine on craigslist. nice thing about that is usually they come with a bunch of food/litter box/toys from families moving or allergy related issues
Its not ideal, but it was really the only place to put it that made sense. my couch really lounges back and since the tv is tilted down, its actually very comfortable to watch.
for Tiamat:
tv: philips 52PFL7403D/F7
receiver: onkyo sr806
cable box: some scientific atlantic (?) time warner...
i definitely need to get stands for the rears as the main driver just points right into the side of the couch. I was also going to play around with swapping the left front with the audio cabinet and right speaker with the sub. the fronts sit about 18 in" from the rear wall and i have the front...
