This looks neat (AIW 8500 Radeon)

Image scaling: 3dfx vs Nvidia

It may be down to how it processes that resolution. For instance I was once told that 3dfx cards couln't actually achieve a resolution as low as 320x240, and in fact it was rendering at 640x480 but rendering 4 pixels for every one (if you see what I mean!).

GeForce 3 or wait for GeForce 3 Ultra / Pro?

R200 sounds like its already in full production - it would be worth looking for that. It would seem at R200 is going to have at least the same feature set as GF3, but with the added benefit of SMARTSHADERS (which GF3 doesn't quite go to). I'd at least take a look at that before making any...

Deus Ex and Kyro II Issues

There are no official XP drivers from PowerVR yet, but some people are using the Win2K drivers with some sucess. But it is most likely to be the cause of the issue as I've not heard of any KYROII releated Deus Ex problems before (its not in any FAQ's), and UT based games generally tend to run fine.

KyroII owners: Are you having problems with Max Payne?

I've not played it yet, but I've seen a few threads about from KYRO users. Basically some are getting occasional desktop crashes, and some are able to play - I believe Jbirny (who posts here occasionally) said he's on the 8'th level now with his KYRO.

The SBA appears to be an AGP2X board, so the Radoen will operate fine on it. I've used Supermicro boards myself in the past, and they are generally very compatible/problem free in the first place. I don;t think you'll have any issues.

"Is this the effect of FSAA resolutions?" No - its sounds like a brightness / gamma issue to me. Have a look at the drivers and see if you can adjust it through them, or play around with the brightness on the monitor.
