Wireless to Wired Connection

I looked at Newegg and they only have 2 wireless bridges and the one that is in stock was ~150 which is way more then a wireless router. You mentioned that wireless routers now have wireless bridge functions built-in to the router. Is there any chance you could suggest one or two which work on...

Ok, I have a Netgear 802.11g wireless router. In the next room I have 3 computers without wireless cards in them which I need to get on the network. I have a little 4 port wired router which I want to feed off the wireless connection, then I could hook up the computers to the wired router. So...

ok so I updated the BIOS (to the same version I'm fairly sure) and it now says: AMD Athlon(tm) XP 2500+ so I guess it worked! thanks, riddelrp

I checked the US site (when looking for a new bios), but that is an interesting thought. Well I just checked an online dictionary and it doesn't seem to be French. Well, I found an interesting thread on TechIMO. The guy on there had the problem solved by flashing the BIOS... -riddelrp

Well, here is the crazy thing: I'm also on the Epox 8RDA+. I have a Barton 2500+ (1.83Ghz) at the stock FSB (166Mhz) and multiplier (11). I also have the most recent BIOS (one of the first things I checked for when I got my system up and running). Weird, riddelrp

Ok so I just built my system last week and today I thought, hey, lets see what it says when you right click on my computer and go to properties. Well for the processor it listed "AMD Athlon(tm) Prosusser"?!? The rest was right 1.84Ghz, 512 MB of Ram. Does it just do this for AMDs? I'm so...

Gonna buy a new mobo/proc combo today!

Check out a pic on my site of the package. You need 2 of them and they cost $4.99 each. Plug one into each of the Front and Rear jacks on the sub. Then plug the front cable into Audio OUT on the MOBO. Place the rear cable in the Audio IN. System sounds great. I had a SB Live! X-Gamer and...

I tried the speaker setup wizard, but that didn't work. The yellow connection is called "Digital DIN" so I guess they would be digital? Thanks for the reply, riddelrp

Also, I tried sticking headphones into the back to make sure the sound works at all and it does. The headphones sound great connected to the onboard sound... now I just want my 4.1 system to work :frown:

Gonna buy a new mobo/proc combo today!

I just built a system on this platform half a week ago (typing on it now). Only diff is I used the Epox EP-8RDA+ Mobo (83 from newegg). I you don't need the onboard VGA take a look at the Epox. Other then that all my components are almost exactly the same as yours (and oh yeah, I like it)...

Ok, I have the EP-8RDA+ Mobo with Creative Labs FPS 2000 speakers (4.1 system). In my older computer I just connected the speakers via the yellow cord to the yellow jack on my SB Live! X-Gamer card. Well I tried to connect the yellow cord to the sound out on my new MOBO, but I don't get any...

Building a Music Jukebox

If you really want good sound (which I think you do, since that is the point of the system) you need an external sound card. Think "External Audigy". The problem with an internal sound card is all the RF crap bouncing around inside your box. That RF messes up your signal, creating "noise"...

if your out of space then go for the hard drive. it sounds like (for you) the CPU is okay (but could be nicer) and the hdd is just not working. HTH, riddelrp

How about using some Kingston HyperX DDR 370 ram? This kinda sounds like an odd in between speed memory, but I can get a 512meg cas2 stick at this speed for just 91 bucks shipped... Also, it seems Kingston doesn't make HyperX memory at the PC 3200 speed, is this correct, or does NewEgg just...

my concern with this solution is that I know 256 megs in not enough ram for me. My current machine is using ~300 megs right now and I usually use more. I don't want to be stuck out of ram, because that would be worse then having a stock clocked proc with 2700 ram (or am I wrong on this one?)...

ok, kinda an odd question... I really don't have 110 to spend on 512 megs of 3200 ram right now. If I buy 1 256 3200 stick of Kingston HyperX ram now. Then in a month or 2 I add a 512 stick of Kingston HyperX 3200 ram. Will these sticks work in dual channel mode since they are different...

thanks, just one more question... I was going to get 1 512 meg stick. Then I was told to get 2 256 sticks instead since my mobo has dual-channel mem slots... getting 1 512 stick is 83, while 2 256 sticks cost 94... how much more performance do I get if I use the 2 sticks? Thanks, Ryan

What is RMS in Audio?

It stands for Root Mean Square. Basically the max output for a speaker is worthless. If you have an stereo that has 200 Watt max output then it can hit 200 Watts, but most of the time it will operate at a much lower level. RMS is the average mantained output (basically) and is a much better...
