What is wrong here?

I have a rather annoying problem. I can't seem to get 2 PCs networked. The first PC, 'walrus', has 2 NICs. One (an SMC card) connects to the cable modem, the other (Netgear) connects to the LAN. The second PC, 'carpenter', has one NIC (Netgear) which connects to the LAN By LAN, I mean that...

Overclocking and memory timings

When I'm overclocking, my system gets unstable at about 145Mhz. Is this likely to be the memory timings, which I've left 'Set by SPD'. Will SPD adjust the memory timings as the FSB is raised (I know it changes some between 100Mhz and 133Mhz (maybe not this chip, but ive seen it. CAS2@100Mhz...

Via 4-in-1 Driver for Asus A7M266??

You do need to install them, but not all 4. Select manual install when you go to install. You need the VIA IDE controller drivers, and the IRQ rooting driver, but not the AGP driver.

Anyone heard of an ASUS A7V-E?

Ive seen the price and limited info on a distributors pricelist. From what i can gather, it must be using the VIA 686B southbridge, cause it supports ATA100, but only has 2 IDE headers, so doesnt have the extra onboard IDEcontroller. It is a fair bit cheaper than the standard A7V. I cant find...

DX8 or New NVidia Drivers?

Im using DX8 and 6.31 BUT, DX8 screwed over my computer when it installed, made all games crash happy, and it needed a reinstall of windows to get it as stable as it is now

I agree, MS has done some really dirty things before, but DirectX is one of their better ideas. It makes writing one piece of software to run on many different hardware setups easy. IMHO, the government should make microsoft make DX an open standard, administered not just by microsoft

Which Is The Best Video Editing Card?

Not as many analogue cards are being made at the moment, most of the main players are moving over to digital. I would reccomend any card made by Pinnacle, just pick one to suit your needs budget i cbf finding a url for you, so get to it tiger

How do you change the "DEFAULT" home page in Internet Explorer 5x ?

Whats the difference between OEM and Retail on the 64meg Radeon?

What's better, a pretested 1GHz@1.3GHz T-Bird for $235 or a 1.2GHz for $260?

Is Crucial pc-133 ram backwards compatible?
