Rebate Tracking Thread...especially Viking CF: Amazon

I believe that mine came in a clear plastic clam-shell retail enclosure. I have not had any response to the rebate submission yet, but at least for me there was no difficulty in obtaining a proper UPC code to submit.

Actually, the way this deal works is that you effectively get a color video camera with motion detector and a 4-camera switcher and a PC video digitizing interface for the price of the subscription, which is a good deal even if you don't use the subscription.

Where to buy Monster Cable at good prices?

www.partsexpress.com sells oxygen-free rope cable in 10-ga, 12-ga (and others) speaker cable spools for a lot less than Monster sells it - but if you're looking for the brand name, they don't have it.

*Warm* Epson Stylus Photo 1270 ~ $310 shipped

I ordered the 1270, it just arrived in a damaged, taped-up box (UPS 2-day air). I'm guessing that it was shipped from Epson that way (but will need to check) - I haven't opened up the box yet, but IMHO they sent me a refurbished one, not a new one. I'll post more details when available.

Thanks... I've looked at Flex ATX, but was hoping to find something smaller for embedded use. I know that laptop stuff is generally proprietary (and expensive, and difficult to get parts for, etc.), and so that probably is not the best way to go in order to make a very small system... So instead...

Thanks for the pointer to FlexATX. It looks interesting, although it is still fairly big at about 7 inches by 9 inches. I wonder whether typical laptop motherboards are any smaller...

I'm looking for a smaller motherboard than microATX, to embed within a small non-standard enclosure, possibly need one PCI expansion slot, but probably not compactPCI. I need something that is perhaps 5 inches by 7 inches in size, with onboard video. Processor/socket requirements are fairly wide...

Who makes inexpensive rack mount ATX case, black?

ATX rack mount cases all seem to be priced for corporate use in as servers - anybody know a decent black ATX rack mount case, perhaps 3U or 4U, even better if it is aluminum? I'm building a multimedia/TV time shifting/surround sound system, and want my PC to look good next to my other audio...
