Thanks for post. It barely worked before, then after upgrading to Windows XP, it didn't work at all. Contacted Memorex and they said that they didn't support it, but I could try upgrading to the new version of NTI CD-Maker. Sure I can spend some more cash in hopes my 1622 will kind of work, NOT.

**Update with article. Tube Tied, we still want our HDTV** Freezing Sony Wega, a whole list (Expired).

I agree on the quality control issues. My new Wega had a warped case. It was heavy and a real pain to drag back to Best Buy. However, only a cosmetic problem, picture's fantastic.

Question about cable service...

It really depends on how you're wired inside your house. Yes, the signal for your cable modem is fed in through your main cable line and is shared with your normal tv signal. Where the cable line comes into your house and how the signal is split (sent to all your outlets) is where the answer...

When you checked on DSL Reports, did you compare your speed with other @home users in your zip code? If so, were they getting much higher speeds or similar? If similar, probably not much more you can do. If higher, then you might try additional tweaks. Also, you should get rid of the @home...

cat5 cable testing...any inexpensive ways to do so?

Do note that Cat5 is real fickle. Continuity can be fine, but all you need is a crimp somewhere or a sloppy connection at a connector of keystone and it won't work. So if you get continuity, you may next want to check each connection point. If that doesn't do it for you, I guess you'll need...

Where To Get CAT5 Cable and connectors cheap?

Looks like ComReady has good prices on Cat5 Keystone jacks too. I think they go for $5 or $6 a piece at HD, but I was able to find them at Radio Shack for $2.99, although they were very limited in supply (I went to 3 stores in order to get 8 jacks).
