MAIN bottlenecks for todays pc's are HD's, buy the fastest yu can afford (like suzzie 15k cheetah's) and one way to get around it is to get ton's of Memory. The video is alwas a issue for gamers, so ask around.

nothing open but icq but does it in notetab also...all of a sudden i have trouble typing, i get 2-3 letters when typed only once and at other times i type and nothing happens...very wierd. i chg the keyboard and get the same crap..errrr!!!

I had a 667 PIII with 113fsb and bought a 1gig PIII and think the 667 is as fast or faster.....Dah!!
Also, a friend has a new 1.5 P4 system and can't see any differences running the same proggie stuff.
I wish there was a web page where all this stuff is listed.

the repair w2k floppie will work if you have w2k on a partition somewhere that it can find....otherwise, you'll need the 4 startup floppies that came with the OS.
Humm, might try copying the winnt folder from the CD to a fat32 partition and use setup from there.

I swore by Quantum for years and seagate bought it out and run WD now and hear horror stores at times about this or that mfg. but I guess the techie stuff are about the same now days.....Huh.

Installed w2k with no problems BUT have a question to see if others have run into this:

At cold boot, it sounds like the HD spins up and cd and floppie lights flash (as normal) I don't get any kind of monitor screen at all (black) AND then everything seem to quit BUT the power light does stay on.....but nothing else happens, no matter how long i wait. I think it might be the power...
