Stumped and need help--Video, then no video

Yeah, I basically told the guy to "drop back ten and punt". LOL!! I said he could salvage parts like the HDD and DVD Burner but his system was pretty much toast.

I think I have a PS tester somewhere here. I'll dig that up and give it a try; then try the multimeter. However, I'm a bit "dumb" when it comes to the multimeter in this case. All of the lines aren't putting out the same voltage are they? Can I just test the one going to the MB? Can you help me...

Markbnj, forgot to mention that in the limited time there is video I don't see any artifacts. Nor did the owner mention any video problem prior to this. I guess I'll pull the video card tomorrow, try booting with onboard graphics again and if that doesn't work install another working video...

Would Like some Feeback-Acronis True Image

Yeah, I went to their forum and did some looking around and saw the process of UDF packet writing. Sounds like a pain to me. I did see the segment sizing in the options and you can either define your own or there is one set for 4.4 GB I think for DVD's.

Well, I've since found that writing directly to DVD's does not seem to be supported. Big disappointment to me. You aparently have to write to disk first, specifying size increments and then burn each image to DVD's. I've found the compression settings so no big deal on that. I guess I'll have to...

Problems with DVD Shrink/Other Recommendations

Could be a water temp problem or an expired yeast problem. The OP mentioned using "room temp" water. That can mean many things to different people but generally speaking if you have it around 85 degrees you should be fine. Check the code date on your yeast also.

Yup! montag451 had it right. The guy had just done a system cleanup/defrag etc in preparation for a ghost backup. It coincided exactly with that. Once I changed that setting under folder options/view, everything went back to normal. Thanks again to all!
