Uh oh...

In a moment of absentmindedness a magnet was placed on top of my tv, and now its got the rainbow color syndrome. Is there anyway to easily/cheaply fix this? It's a 19" Sony Trinitron from 1993.

Crucial PC2100 owners...How far have you overclocked your RAM?

172 fsb with turbo timings on an epox 8k3a+ with 3.2vdimm. Will do around 180 fsb with normal timings and 3.2vdimm. not bad for $35 pc2100.

XP 1800 vs XP 1600 @ newegg

I just picked up a XP 1600 from newegg, I got an ARIOA "4" stepping chip. Got it running at 1750mhz (10.5 x 166) at 1.8 vcore, once I unlock this thing I think 1900mhz is within reach!

Bleh...Geforce 2 GTS running in PCI mode in WinXP

I've had this problem, reinstalling the proper AGP mini port driver (if your motherboard requires it, ie a AMD 760 board) or reinstalling the 4in1's fixes it.

Ok, things are getting a little wierder. I was basing the not getting video part off the fact the monitor wouldnt wake up from sleep mode, but when I turn the monitor on i get an image, but its like the signal is out of sync or something and everything's garbled, and the monitor bitches about...

I've got a 300w Antec, could that be the problem? I find it hard to believe that the motherboard wouldnt be able to supply enough power, its brand new and lots of people run it with Ti4600's and such...

I've got a Gainward Geforce 4 Ti4200 and it's been giving me the strangest problems. I can't get any video when it's in my computer, but if I try to use the card in another computer it works perfectly. Other video cards work fine in my computer, and I'm sure the monitor is fine. What the heck...

ARRGH! bad bios flash

Just got my new 8k3a+, ran into the stability problems I had heard about. Got about 3/4 of the way through the BIOS flash, and then BOOM, spontanious reboot. ARRGH!!! Won't POST at all now, so I guess I'm screwed?

good gfx, good snd, 1394, usb2.0, amd

Abit's AT7 has the sound, 1394, and USB 2 all integrated. Throw in a Gf3 Ti200 and you're set.

Anyone remember that article about SMP G4's...

I didn't say it was necessarily true, I just remember reading an article about it awhile ago when the first SMP G4's came out, it had something to do with the software emulation for pre-OS X programs, I don't remember, hell that's why I want to find the article again!

Refresh rate and resolution problems

I've got a Geforce 2 GTS-V in one of my systems, running a KDS VS-5e monitor, and I can't get the thing to keep its settings! It started when I installed nVidia's refresh rate fix for Win2k. Now, after I set the refresh rate and/or resolution in windows, it'll revert to 640x480x32 at 120hz...

Want a glossy finish for painting my pc, any tips?

For a high gloss finish, you'll wanna prime and sand it. Between every coat of primer and paint, wet sand with a high grit sand paper. Same goes for the clear coat. After you're done painting, rubbing some 3M Imperial hand wax (I think that's what its called) will help bring out the shine...

The network card is configured correct as far as I can tell, it can get to the internet, it just can't browse the Windows network the rest of the machines are on. I'll have to check out that site, thanks.

This is driving me crazy...

Woah... it just got ALOT wierder. I left the machine for the night and I just fired it up and it POSTS! And I didn't change anything! Buuut, the BIOS listed the cpu as a 650Mhz Duron (6.5x100) and I just restarted it, and it's back to the same no POST crap. Maybe I've got a sh1tty unlocking...

This is driving me crazy...

The only other setup that would POST was with the Athlon, which is a 1.33Ghz, and it would POST everytime. This makes absolutely no sense, any other ideas?
