Thanks guys! I did a format. So I suppose going from the KT133a to the SIS735 was too big a jump for XP. I wonder about going from a KT133a to the KT266a if XP wouldn't freak out going that route. Ideas? Thanks all! --Scott

Okay... The BOIS on an Epox crapped out on last week an 8KTA3, most of the time it wouldn't go through the complete BOIS initiations, it would skip right to the final FF on the display L.E.D. Annoying. So I figure replacing a BIOS is going to take just as long as getting a new board and...

Game gone Bad or Monitor going Bad...

After playing UT... My screen won't drop back to 1280x1024... It will do 800x600, but anything higher in resolution, and it wants to do a virtual desktop thing where I have to slide the screen around to get to it all. Now I'm getting white/to dark grey banding if any of the edges fall off...

Wow, sounds like you need some Arctic Silver thermal paste. I never vary by more than 5deg C from idle to full load. 38 to 43~45.

Resolution doesn't matter much if the print head isn't putting down the right colors, or they are banded and blotchy. The HP is the better printer.

Problem with FDISK

Remember with a fresh install of 2000, you've always have to fdisk. Formating is never enough. Wasted a beautiful Saturday once trying to figure this out.

Amazon, My RC5 client keeps a log. And it's in start-up. So I always know how long it been running. Sorry, posted before I got the poll built.

I'm at 7 days 8 hours and 36 mins... via my RC5 client. With Win98SE I was rarely more than two days. I'll go three weeks now with 2000 Professional. I love it!

Okay, it was kind of cool at first, and now it just annoys phuck out of me. Explorer 5.5 hides all but the favorites it thinks I want. I want to see all of them, all of the time! How do I disable this 'feature?' I can't see to find an folder to manage this annoyance. Help!

Slot A (Classic) Athlon Qusetion

Just don't use too much, or the paste gets in the way of conucting the heat away from the CPU. This is a common mistake. Just enough to insure uniform contact.

SCSI Question

I am trying to install an Adaptec AHA-2940_S76 card into my Epox 8KTA3 board. Its in the first PCI slot. Cable won't reach the slot lower so I've not tried other locations. But I'm getting a error, "BIOS expand," right after the board POST's. I've got the newest drivers...

I just got Epox 8KTA3+, I'm not happy with it. I can't believe that HardOCP recommends it...

Guess we shut Charles down! This board lets me get an extra 85mhz out of a D650 that Compuwiz1 couldn't get from an MSI-Turbo. Now that says something. :D
