Just wanted to report that the Madden 08 I ordered online finally shipped. I'm not sure why they had the release date as the 16th for their online store. But at least they're not waiting until Bioshock is released to ship both my games together.
I put in an online order for this deal and 50% off Bioshock. I got an email from TRU saying that Madden doesn't get released until tomorrow. I thought that was kind of odd. I'm not sure if they are going to ship my Madden tomorrow and Bioshock next Tuesday or if they're going to wait until...
I just tested out the latest 01/27/2006 BIOS and it has the same problems as the previous one. Just continuous Bad Checksum errors. I am going to try remailing ECS and see what they have to say about it.
Just so people know, there was another BIOS released for this board on Jan 27th. I haven't tried it out yet, but I will tonight. Here is what it adds:

This was an issue with a bad BIOS. The problem was it would do the normal CMOS error, but then not save the updated CMOS correctly. So you would get stuck with CMOS error everytime you boot.
So I emailed ECS the day I had this problem (The 20th) and they emailed me back saying they had no idea what I was talking about and couldn't reproduce the problem. But surprisingly enough, they released a new BIOS the same day. It has all the same fixes but also says "Smart Fan disabled"...
I have the same board and got the same problem. I was pissed and upset that I was going to have to RMA the board. But stang's suggestion worked for me! I was able to flash back to the BIOS I had before the update. ECS really needs to take down that BIOS file!
