why don't hard IDE hard drives come in 10000RPM?

I use adaptec 19160 card and it works great.......zero problems.

I'm running Win2000 pro using scsi 15k cheetah right now and want to install my new IDE 120gig 7200rpm (2meg cache) HD. Is this IDE drive going to slow my system down ?? I want to install Win98se as C:\> on the IDE drive and fix the boot.ini or re-install W2k back on my cheetah scsi for...

Logging in as XP admin

during the install it will ask for the adm name and password and below it will be a number of blank boxes to add user's. What i did was enter my name with no password or user's and it automatic log's into adm without a problem and if i ever need to add user's it's easy from the cpl. Does this...

I format did 1 low level format and still no go....

GoTo: http://samsungelectronics.com/hdd/support/faqs/faq_1320.html and D/L clearhdd.exe to your boot floppie, use it to clean up the disk cause you have a installer overlay in your boot sector that will prevent your installing that OS. No Problem........CU

I want to have a computer in the house about 100 ft away to share my LAN cable connection and don't have but (1) IP address. Need advice on whats the best wireless combo to buy? What do they come with, a router box and a couple NIC cards and some software or what ?? Thx

Win2k lockup's....Why ??

And I'd like to mention that my XP rc2 doesn't lockup......not yet anyway. But (of course) i stay in win2k 90% of the time and thats why i'm mad with win2k right now. Thanks for letting me blow my whistle :-( Pete

Changing HDs

transfer your old hard drive to the New is boot to DOS Prompt within Windows and use the XCOPY32 command but sometimes there might be a conflict with long file names; You'll have to adjust the drive letters, XCOPY32 C:\ D:\ /R /I /C /H /K /E /Y

Yep, i know i can boot off the CD but there's alot of other repair features if you have the 4 floppies loaded. I also went to Iomega site and looked....nothing there about it boot for a zip100 disk. I've had a message on there forum for a week and expect nothing back :( Since follie disk (1)...

I have all 4 boot disks, but you'll know how long it takes for all them to load (if needed). I would like to use a Zip100 disk and my bios has the option. My question: How do I do this?? Someone must have done this. Thanks Pete

XP rc2 comment/question Pls;

Has anyone had this happen...(at say) 10% of the time and it's not really a big deal but; I Boot xprc2 up with no problems (well, nothing shown) and it's like your NIC isn't configured or your off-line...no email or web surfing but everything else works like a charm. I then reboot to Win2k and...

Dual Boot with existing Win2K.

YU got the right idea as i did the same thing...more or less. My w98se had to be first to install so i ghosted my w2k and formatted, made another partition and installed w98, then ghost the w2k to D:, ran the w2k boot repair boot sector and all is well. W2k will run anywhere. ok

Iomega zip100 internal question pls:

Running (2) scuzzies hd, (1) ide hd, cdrom and burner. I installed this zip drive as sec/slave ide and bios see it ok..but I have to remove the cable and power/plug to get windows to boot-up. With it connected (as above), the bios see it on bootup as well as the scuzzies and i get the w2k/w98...
