Asus P4T533-C -- HELP with Audio?!

It has both, but they're both enabled -- in the BIOS and the jumper(s) as well. I'm stumped. The POST speech reporter is working through the speakers at boot-up, but Windows won't even recognize the hardware. Weird. The Horta.

2.4/400 @ 3.0/125 1.6V Stock HSF

I think yours. I run MBM at all times and after being on for MANY hours and "normal" use (ie: surfing, Word, Excel, etc) my temps read 25C for MB and 28C for CPU with all stock HSF (though using AS2). I would submit that something indeed is WAY wrong with your temps. They seem whacked out...

2.4/400 @ 3.0/125 1.6V Stock HSF

OK, I dropped down to 120/40 still at 3x and get 2879 nice and stable. I was concerned about the FSB at 140, but ran P95 for over 10 straight hours without an error. Using MBM the temp quickly went from 28C to 46C but levelled off there. I guess that stock HSF will have to go. I was surprised...

The BIOS reports (and stops asking for F1 to continue) 1.71 or so fluctuating between 1.68 and 1.72. It did this even if I set it to 1.550. Not sure if that's what you mean or not. It the board giving the CPU what it needs? Not sure why it would say over 1.7+ if I set it to 1.60. Any ideas...

HELP! Dual MP 2000+ on Tyan S2460 @ 78C !!??

The temps are with the box open, so I don't think it's the RAM blocking CPU-1 that makes it a few degrees warmer. I just think CPU-2 sits idle most of the time, making it inherently cooler. You'd think for the extra money, and the fact that AMD is chasing the small enterprise market (no 4-way)...

Asus P4T533 + P4 2.2/100 + PC1066 = 3 GHz?

Using legit PC1066 RD, a retail box P4 2200/100, and an Asus P4T533 (or "C") can I reasonably expect to hit a fully STABLE 3 GHz with a quality HSF like an MC462, etc? Thanks.

Athlon MP vs. XP and "The Pits"

I noticed that Tom's Hardware shows both the MP and XP processors, and says that the MP version does NOT have the "pits" between the L1 multipliers. Is this true? Would there be a "less hassle" benefit to spending the additional money on the MP instead? Also, has anyone tried running dual XPs...

ARGH! Gigabyte GA-7DXR BIOS Flash gone bad!

The real kicker is that they HARD WIRE BOTH BIOS chips to the motherboard itself. WTH are these maroons thinking?! Twice we've tried incorporating Gigabyte boards into our product line, and twice we've regretted it. There will NOT be a third time. The Horta.

Partition RECOVERY? HELP!

I just flashed a customer's system, which has a Gigabyte GA-7DXR with Gigabyte's "DUAL BIOS" in it, and now it won't POST! WTF! I thought if something went wrong, that the secondary BIOS was supposed to AUTOMATICALLY take over and prevent problems just like this?! Also, BOTH fargin' BIOS chips...

Planning to overclock an Athlon XP 1800+

Nathan124; You might be better off doing what most of us are. I was headed in the exact same route as you, getting a 1900+ and thinking about overclocking it. I don't think you can go much beyond 1700MHz with the 1900+ (only about a 5% gain) whereas with a 1600+ I am able to run at 150*10.5...

PC2700 DDR?! Anyone know about this?

Can 512M PC2100 be run at CAS2?

Now that the 512MB PC2100 DDRs have come down to a reasonable price, I'd like to know if anyone's tried to run them at CAS2, since we can run the Micron 256M PC2100s at CAS2 without any problems. Thanks. The Horta.
