VCD bandwidth question

I don't know exactly why you labeled your post a VCD bandwidth question since VCDs are mpeg-1 at a constant bit rate (1150kbps video, 224kbps sound) ... unless that is what you wanted to know. But anyways, getting back to your post, you can get a little over an hour of footage onto an 80min CD...

My video files (.mpg, .avi etc..) as well as my tvtuner show up fine, so i don't think it is an overlay problem. but i'll check it out anyways and see what happens when i 'tweak' it. Is there any option in the nvidia drivers to adjust gamma for only open_gl or only for directx? (similar to the...

For some reason, most of the games i play lately (Return to Castle Wolfenstein, Serious Sam...) appear dark even though the brightness in the game has been turned all the way up. On my friends computers computers, the games look fine. If anybody else has this problem i would like to know about...

Iwill or Promise Raid Card?

The mods for the Promise UltraATA card look pretty ghetto to me. I'd rather just get the real deal for a little more. And it seems as if the Iwill card is looking good ... anybody out there who has any problems/praise for this card? Thanks.

I'm looking to buy a raid card, and notice that the Promise FastTrak 100 TX2costs ~$80 while the Iwill Side-RAID100costs only ~$45. I know the Iwill uses the High Point HPT370controller, but is it that much worse than the Promise chipset? I just am looking for pros and cons for each...

XP and that STUPID MSN Messenger (for all IE6 users)

I'm using Win2k, but that MSN Messenger used to pop up everytime I wanted to just check my email with Outlook Express. I got it stop loading it by disabling the "contact list" in Outlook Express (just close the window with the ppl in your address book in it). And don't even try to email the MSN...
