I moved into a new 3 flat apartment, and my den doesn't have a cable jack for the cable modem. My cable modem currently sits next to my entertainment system connected to my Microsoft 11g router (wireless only turned on when I use it) which is connected to my replay tv, PS2, and my work laptop...

New Laptop can't get DHCP to work but static IP works

Those still all work fine, besides the Laptop that I need to use I can't use wired or LAN to VPN into work. Something really messed up my Lan drivers or some other config when i loaded up the Linksys 11g utility.

Yes to all... for some reason, dhcp is not working properly on my laptop. I can't get a connection to the internet, and I can't even ping my wireless router.

Unfortunately, he's not looking at monitors.... I agree though! He's pushing on using his G.C.'s, but I'll just tell him to get the Samsung RW Drive there ($39.99 after rebate), HD, Video, and maybe the $140 case with the 400 watt power supply. I'll probably tell him to get his MB, Processor...
