    Core 2 Duo Photoshop test

Hi noushy, Those are some nice results. It shows that broly8877 must have made a typo or done something incorrectly when running the test on his system. On my CS2 system, with the Pentium D @ 3 GHz, it runs in 48 seconds. I went to tried it out with only one of my cores active for...

    Core 2 Duo Photoshop test

I'm glad you brought this up. In fact, when I saw your original thread (which I've just posted in) it brought me to recall this benchmark which I thought may give some insight to the usefulness of dual-core processing for Photoshop. Your X2 scores will definitely improve upon the current...

    Dual core vs. Dual Cpu

I appreciate the input so far. I know that one of the best indicators to answering my question would be to get a dual-core machine and try it out myself and see how it goes. One scenario I have is where a client is using an old Compaq dual P3-600 machine running Windows 2000 Server. Its...

    Dual core vs. Dual Cpu

Hi guys, How does a dual-core cpu compare against a true SMP dual-cpu system? Example would be a Pentium D 840 (or AMD X2 4200+) vs. 2x Pentium 4 - 2.8 GHz Xeon system? For the price, dual-core seems great. I am primarily interested in terms of the Windows lines of server operating systems...

How do I make a screen capture in winXP?

Windows XP changes color depth every time i boot up

    mirroring two Windows 2000 Servers

Thanks for the input. To make note, I only want the data mirrored during night-time, and I feel that it would hurt the internet pipe too much by trying to send data between the business times of 9-5. Good point in mentioning that if a file is erased at one end, it would be erased at the other...

    mirroring two Windows 2000 Servers

OK, then maybe what I am trying to do is a cross between a mirror and a cluster :/ My main purpose is wanting to have a secondary server ready to go in case anything happens to the main server. I would assume a cluster is what would be needed to make that work. However, I do like the option...

    mirroring two Windows 2000 Servers

hi spyordie007, I was almost hoping not to have to use imaging as a permanent solution for this. At present, I have both Ghost and TrueImage, as well as BackupExec 9.1 running on the server. My main idea for the imaging would be as follows: Image the server on Saturday night/ Sunday morning...

Can I use XP Home to prevent IE access?

lol, cute... however, i agree with what Sunner has stated.
