I got mine last night and did an upgrade this morning (had a extra 20 laptop drive allready). He is how I did it. you can use any 9.5mm hard drive. 20,30,40 gig whatever.

It's not an Ipod but $129.00 I just had to have one. I thought that usb 1 was gonna bother me but once this thing is loaded up its only 2 min or less to change each cd worth of music. Now where did I put that screewdriver and spare 20 gig laptop drive.

How can i format my harddrive using NTFS to restore a ghost image?

When you run ghost it wipes the whole drive if you format before restoring an image ghost distroys that format information. Just restore with ghost it will handle the format. If your image is ntfs it will make the restored image ntfs, if the image is fat32 that is what you will have after the...

Slow hard disk performance

I had the very same problem. I changed to older win2k drivers for the highpoint 370 on my VP6. More than doubled my scores. Try not using the highpoint drivers from XP.

<< Anyone else? >> It was the .v2-400 that had a slight dip in the midrange. fixed in the 4.1. and 2.1's. Not using the rear speakers would be fine, but won't lessen the load on the amp's, as each channel has it's own amp. You could allways buy one pair of 2.1's now, and get annother pair...

How to use Dual Display? Can I use AGP & PCI vid card in same box?

Should be fine. One thing, in bios you might want to set the agp card as the "Init Display First" device. Just do it.

What do you do as soon as you format your harddrive?

I put down a prayer rug facing Redmond Washington. While chanting "microsoft, microsoft, microsoft" pray to Bill and Steve that my freash install will go well and all my components will get along. This has never worked, but I'm afraid of what will happen if I don't.

Duel monitor, dvd ?

Thanks guys, I was afraid of that. To answer, 1st monitor directly in front of me 19" flat samsung 955, 2nd monitor 17" 7 year old nec 5fge and set off to the side. It was just a little awkward to work off to the side while movie was right in front of me. Makes the movie look great...

Did my Linksys die?

It's not running hot, don't know of anypower surges. I'm in So.Cal so it wasn't lightning, the clocks are not flashing so no rolling black-out. It's been unpluged for a couple of hours, I'm going to try resetting it a gain to see what happens. I can do nat with linux box, but no wireless for now.

Speaker wire for my Klipsch Promedias

Personally I don't think Monster would improve a computers sound set-up. Yes, you could just crimp or wrap the wires, but copper dose corrode and the connection would degrade in time.

The soldering iron is our friend, don't let it intimidate you. You'll have a feeling of acomplishment and save money. Good for the ego and pocket book. Unless you use "Monster Cable", that stuff will brake the bank.

Monitor decision- Samsung 955DF or NEC Accusync 95F??

I just bought the 955df, I love it. I prefer shadow mask as opposed to aperture grill. Those little lines bug the hell out of me, plus I thing shadow mask are a little sharper. Go with the Samsung.

questions about a luke warm deal on 19" monitor

I just bought the very same monitor from bb. I see no such haze. This monitor rocks. Sorry to say you may have to exchange it. I wouldn't give up on the 955, let it settle for a couple days and if you still have the haze exchange.
