need help

Oh, I have spent so much time on this and now maybe the answer. How do you disable native support for sata? The bios on my Compaq Presario v3732 does not offer any options. Many thanks.

How to format CD/DVD in xp 3

I find I cannot format a cd or dvd using win xp sp3. I want to make msdos boot disk. I know I can use nero to make boot disk but this is caldera dos and I want msdos. many thanks.

In the end "getdataback" did the job very well for me and I found it very easy to use. Ordered online from UK 119 dollars, about 65 pounds, seems fair enough price for such a save and did not have to pay any taxes. This is the price for the package that handles fat and ntfs.

I agree, "1" looks like connectors for the usb on the board, this is your front panel usb. "4" is definately the connectors for your onboard osund to be played through extra front panel connectors. "2" is the connector that matches the description in your manual and connects to jfp2...

Disk is formatted with fat32 and all files were written using windows explorer. The disk is seen as a logical drive (D) in windows explorer.

Presumably you have tried unloading all the drivers. make sure that they are really gone, you can get programme for removing drivers from guru 3d

This is a common problem, If you instead of maximising the windows stretch them to fill the screen, give it a minute, maybe do something and you should find that windows remembers.

I thought, what a usefull command but it will not run from cammand prompt on my xp sp2. TASKLIST /SVC That is the prompt from inside xp by way of start menu.

Partioning under Windows XP

As tp the partition if you have xp with sp1 you simply change the size of the partition when you install windows. It will come upo with a partition of 137gb, simply delete this partition and choose the full partition from the following menus.

Have done this exactly as required on the ZA site but no joy. The file is to do with true vectoring and seems to be part of windows. I do not want to re-install windows yet again. Many thanks.

I feel a bit of a mug over this. Thanks for the replies but the following seems to be the way. When you install xp you are given options to format and if the disk is new you will be asked to choose and one will show 137gb. If you delete this partition you will then be given the option...

I have to admit to ignorance here as I have not heard of udma 6 before, I assume it is something related to gig per second and of course sata. Can anyone explain or point me to a page that will tell me how the chipset ( 945 for instance ) determines the speed of the hard drive. Many thanks
