SOYO Dragon+ -->Booting from RAID problem

I've found that given half a chance windows xp will update the "lite" driver to the full promise driver, which causes problems on boot as the raid driver chips are different. Ive jusdt flashed my soyo with a modified bios that enables full raid support, and requires modified drivers. but it is...

160gb hdd & 48 bit addressing etc...

damn damn and damn Just flashed the bios so it's a fully blown on-board raid card, hoping that would fix my problems but no. :( Still hangs when trying to move data arround

Right, finaly got my 160gb HDD + maxtor (promise) Ultra 133 TX2, pluged it in, turned on and booted off my on-board promise -lite raid into win XP, and all is happy. Start copying files onto the drive and it hangs. It does this repeatedly. Mb: soyo dragon + with 2* IBM 75GXP's booting off them...

IBM 75GB 75gxp, rma and replaced with ...??

<< I sent in a 60GB 75GXP and they sent me a 75GB 75GXP, which also happend to be made in hungary, and was refurbished to boot >> ouch refurbished :( thats nasty, the extra 15 gb would have been good but REFURBISHED FFS!!!

IBM 75GB 75gxp, rma and replaced with ...??

Lo, I've got 2 IBM 75 gb GXP's in a raid config, and both are starting to show signs of impending failure. I?m getting a Maxtor 160 gb drive to keep all my data backed up on for when the raid failes. Has anyone rma?d a 75gb GXP recently? I?m curious as to what IBM will do about it as they don?t...

Asus 8200 Deluxe on XP

Lo, i use the default Nvidia drivers for mine, but you cant use vidio capture with them afaik... To install them go to Nvidia and click on the drivers link then d/l and run the XP/2k driver If you want asus ones find them on the asus site (bit of a maze) there are beta ones from there ftp...

reverse agp cards ... what you recon

Lo, Why dont grphix card makers put the chips and hs's on the other side of the card !!! It's so annoying that i cant use pci slot 1 for fear of burning out my card due to over heating ... The other side of the card is just empty and in my case i have loads of cooling there provided by a nice...

Wtf can i find one of these in the uk any ideas? i've tried dabs, insight, ideal, aria and scan ... no one seems to sell it, also would anyone recomend it/ have any comments? Any one know if it can take the alpha have heard varied opinions ... Thanks C-9po
