Talk to the land lord first though, The cable company should put in a different line for free if you ask. Really, your going to lose alot of signal if you send it 5 feet or 100 feet. I really don't know of many signal transmitters but you should be able to find something that will work with a RF...
I'm sure theres a way to do it but it would involve RF transmitters and your signal would be degraded heavily. I recommend just taking a saturday or something and fishing it though your crawl space or running it along the ceiling if you don't have one.

Ya, Those detonator drivers are wothless as far as 2000 goes. I'm honestly not sure about XP though. I would really recommend installing the drivers that came with your card. and see what that does. Often they're slow but stable drivers.
Another thing you might try. See if any of your games...
Mabe check your drivers. I honestly doubt it but you might check IRQs. Any basic stuff hardware related. Especially check your Nvidia drivers. Run off the ones that came with the card. I really wouldn't recommend using their 'XP' drivers. Those things always give me trouble.
