I'm getting 8 mbps on HSPA+ on GoPhone in my area, so AIO would be about half the speed. Either one is plenty fast for anything you should be doing on a phone with a 2GB data cap though.

What was the last game you played that made your jaw drop?

The original Doom. The jump in graphics from Wolfenstein (the previous state-of-the-art shooter) to Doom was a quantum leap. Far Cry 1 was pretty awe-inspiring, as was Crysis 1. But neither made my jaw drop the way Doom did in 1993.

It looks like 5 of the 7 games they tested had serious frame delay issues with the 7950. They just ran fraps for their frame times, which is a pretty standard way to do it. The 7950 spent a lot of time waiting 50ms or longer for a frame, that's no good.

What consumer application will ever need more computing power? Most people run web browsers, watch some videos, use Office apps, maybe play some crappy Flash games... The enterprise market will drive technology innovation, but I think the PC has come as far as it needs to.

6950's 2 Gb almost gone so what card now?

I dunno, max overclock 6970 vs. max overclock 7850 would be pretty close in most games. The 7850 definitely wouldn't be 40% faster, which is the price difference ($250 for new 7850, $180 for used 6950, then unlock).

Corsair Performance 3 Series SSD now available on Newegg. Very pricey!

Even more ridiculous is that the older Crucial C300 128GB is still about $300. I'm hoping that e-tailers will be closing out that drive for <$180 once the C400/CP3 hit the shelves. The C300 has ~85% the read throughput of the new drives. Close enough to probably be unnoticeable in regular use.
