Ketteringo is most likely right with his assessment that you have faulty hardware. How can you be sure that it's not your hard drive or RAM? I've never heard of game installs creating the kind of problems you are having, especially a retail release of a quality game from a respected company. You...

Cool animation music vid.

I thought that animation was originally done by Animusic on some renderfarm. They won a Siggraph award with it, if I remember correctly. ATi just took the anim to showcase their technology, I think.

This man speaks the truth. What other consumer OS costs $100-200 on a student discount? WinXP Pro costs at least $50 more than Win2000, even though the changes were mostly cosmetic. The reason: IE 6 and WMP 9. Simple as that.

Does the girl from Evanesence have the best female voice?

I don't think she's that amazing, she just has a strangely soothing, spooky voice. About 10 years ago I would have said Mariah Carey was the best female singer, but she seems to have lost her voice (along with her clothes...). Christina Aguilera does have an amazing voice, too bad I cannot...

Very fun puzzle game

I got to the level after the airlock where there is a crashed UFO and a dead alien in a lobby, at which point my computer bailed out on me with a nice and rare WinXP BSOD. It seems my SoundBlaster PCI could not take the crappy MIDI music any longer and feigned a driver malfuncion. :P

My Athlon 2400+, a fairly powerful CPU takes about 30 seconds to encode 240 seconds of stereo music into mp3, so doing a rough estimation, you would need around 90 seconds for 240 seconds of 6-channel sound, or 0.375 seconds per 1 second of audio, which means that the CPU would spend around 37%...

I got a Mac. WTF?

My first PC had a whopping 80 MB hard drive. I had Win95 and Red Alert installed, and I had just enough space left for 3 savegames in Red Alert. An attempt to create a 4th savegame would result in a "HDD full" error message. :)
