I've got my older enermax 550 watt running an A64 X2, older 8800 GTS.
Does anyone here think it will be stable enough for the Asus P6T LGA 1366 and the same video card as above?
amperage 5.0v 36A , 3.3v 36A , 12v 36A
i'm using the rig below.
I have family that works at Intel up in Portland plant.
as long as the cpu ram and mobo can be had for no more than 500 i'm getting one as soon as i can
old willamette ehh - yea it needs upgrading
Do you live near any major universities? Sometimes they have surplus stores open to the public.
Computers that can be had for real cheap, there are boat loads of P4's.
Some p4's are the LGA 775, 3GHz 1MB cache are some of the newest i've seen...
i tell it to probe-scsi
it lists the disk i have installed.
but solaris says it can't find anything to install
WARNING: /pci@1f,4000/SCSI3...............................somthin like that.
maybe the nvram is still set to see a specific disk that is no longer there?
Do i need to change...
says it can't open disk label package
Timeout waiting for ARP/RARP packet.
I suppose this is normal for a machine separated form it's original disk.
i recieved the machine w/o a hdd, i put in a 15k scsi - is blank though
do i need to change anything on the nvram in order to use this disk...
it's all a star - most of this equip is in one rack
how would stp help me - besides the reliability
i never had this happen until brought the cisco gear in the network
I appreaciate your help, is there some other config that is staring me in the face tha t should look into?
how often do topology change notifs occour (it hardly ever shanges)
but there are 2 3com switches too - i'll just be downloading a file and the traffic is flooding on all the switches - aside fron normal broadcast paterns this one really stands out.
I'm not using any STP but do have some...
for some reason i do not know the network starts broadcasting everything to all the ports.
It doesn't do this all the time either.
If anyone else out there knows any pointers to give this cisco noob please don't be shy to give some suggestions.
it would make me really happy to have this...
My friend is trying to get the most out of his video subsystem and the FX5200 is not cutting it.
I whole heartedly agree with anyone suggesting a complete overhaule for this machine but this person is tight that he squeaks when he walks...
So he asked me this mornig if a 6800 will run on an...
I am interested in d20L but perhaps that's not the best way to use a 4 way xeon.
can anyone give me some advice on what to install on this machine that will actually use the power?
Also Where do you join the Team?
I used to donate alot of time and CPU's to Distributed computing and I really enjoyed it.
But since the end of a protien folding client i had been running i still cannot find a distributed computing project to dedicate all my cpu's and the Xeon machine.
Any suggestions to any of your teams or...
I know this is a long shot but i was wondering if anyone knows a resource that i can obtain voltage pinouts for this 6 pin connector on my SCA compaq backplane,
I have 4 of the pins solved - it's down to just two pins!
Logic would tell me that the remaining two are grounds and or 12/ 5 volts...
when i obtained these servers they had two nics - both 64 bit PCI
one was in 64 bit 66mhz slot, other was in 64bit 33mhz slot.
they both work fine in 32 bit slots too.
The NIC on the 64bit 66mhz pci bus plugs into the same physical slot and bus as the Array adapter.
hey MCrusty got it right!
I am looking for a new mobo for my main rig - hopefully one that fit's one of these array adapters
so any suggestions are appreciated
the controllers also came with 16 SCSI hard drives running at 10K - what kind of IO do you think i could get out of that?
I also forgot to mention there SCA 36.7,s though
I have considered purchasing a board with 64 bit 66mhz slots - but in the end i am not sure if it's worth it?
hopefully there are not any bios issues with the controller that i have yet to encouter, since it's compaq after all - theres nothing wrong with them, they just don't have the greatest...
I have obtained 2 compaq smart array 5300 controllers - specs - 64mb cach, dual channel ultra 3, IBM RISC processor.
My question is can i use this controller on a board with only 32 bit 33mhz pci slot or will this dammage the card? The slot they are in currently says it is a 64 bit 66mhz slot...
i have reinstalled win xp 3 times now, every time things run great for a few hours and then when a reboot is necessary i suddenly get the no paging file is set error, i have looked all over microsoft for the solution and it has nothing to do with the permissions or to do with a chipset driver.
I...
wholy SH** how can that be 40 bucks for that?
the feeling i get is it does not perform as well as an adaptec.
I already have cable and term but it only has space for 2 drives
The other big question is will my Alpha 8045 fit on any of those?
"high PCI efficiency of nForce2 for your SCSI card to run free on"
didn't know of that?
I think i need an ultra 160 interface too. but that will have to wait
I am looking to upgrade my abit KR7A (KT266A) to something with an NF -2 with MCP - T, and most importantly support for heatsinks with 4 mounting bolts, and suggestions are appreciated
well, upon bootup, look at your POST screen and see what speed your drives are running on that channel your concered about,
if it's DMA 33 or lower i would get a seperate controller for your HD's
did it short out? probably
i had the same problem with mine, one mounting hole near the ram slots would not line up
ended up using a plastis screw and a plastic standoff
it could be shorting out right on the lead for the reset header,
had that happen before too
