By foldable display I actually mean the possibility to fold the screen. This is not sci-fi; it has been already tested. I'm telling this because I had for a while a Tablet PC, and the main problem with it is that you can break the display at any moment. unless you use some of those hybrid...
For that price, I would consider buying this tablet PC. Lindows is not that good though. I would actually wait for a tablet pc version of linux instead. Did you notice the external wireless card in the photo? that's not a great solution.
I do have a laptop and the battery does not last 3 hours. However, the point is the market of Tablet PC. They are supposed to be something between a Pocket PC and an ultraportable PC. By ultraportable I mean something that weights no more than 2lb, since you're supposed to hold it on one hand...
Not really. The CPU speed is comparable to (but still slower than) a PIII 500 in normal use, and to a PII 300 in FPU intensive applications (aka games). a 5800 series @ 800mhz Transmeta is as fast a PIII 600.
I believe you're referring to the wireless cable router on offer in the past for the same price after rebate. Overall it was a better deal, but still the current one is still pretty warm.

I was really looking for a laptop, and I didn't have to look any further that the Toshiba Satellite 3005. It's still in stock in Northeast Ohio. The Compaq with AMD processor is also a good choice, but I prefer the Toshiba as a brand name.
