Has case design fallen since the coolermaster ATC series?

Ultimate SLI PSU roundup

That CPU Magazine article isn't very well written. The author did not have an accurate information about +12V rail draw for his system and the Seasonic 600W also did poorly in his test (which is very unusual).

Silverstone Temjin 05

The Temjin5 that Anand had did not have any 80mm fans, you can see there were none in any of the pics they took for the review. I think Anand's review simply stated that the case has room for three 80mm fans, "with mounts for 3 additional 80mm fans" Notice he said "mounts" for 3...

Well, being that Lian-Li's used to be knockoffs of old Cooler Master cases, I guess it is a little difficult to knock off knockoffs... :)

Need suggestions for an EXTREMELY sturdy desktop chassis

I wouldn't count the LC11 out in terms of strength. Becuase of its upside-down orientation, there is a motherboard tray right underneath the top panel. So essentially you have a 1.60mm thick steel plate (0.8mm + 0.8mm) holding the case. I am pretty sure it will hold your monitor up.

Does silverstone make good PSUs?

Most SilverStone PSUs are made by Enhance, which is one of the better OEM power supply manufacturers around. Enhance PSUs are usually very reliable so you should be fine.

Case Dilemma - CM WaveMaster, TT Tsunami, SS TJ-05

If you want silence, you should definitely get the new updated TJ05 with the stamped fan grill removed. Looks like Newegg has them, but they all come in windowed version only. Older TJ05 New TJ05

Silverstone TJ05

The standard two fan configuration of this case seems to be good enough for most system. Unless you have SLI setup, I doubt you will need to install two fans on the side. If you want to install those fans anyways, they should probably both blow into the case. You can see this is what Scan...

Does anyone actually manufacture a Titanium metal Case?

I really doubt such a case would be possible at $300. You are purely looking at material costs, but to make a case requires machinary and tools. The investment needed to make a case out of titanium would have to be spread to the cost of cases. When you factor in how many people will actually...

Power supply?

As far as I know, EPS12V power supplies will work with regular 24pin motherboards. Silverstone had a demo 775 system with their ST52F power supply installed at a tradeshow. Here is a link of it in the last pic on this page: http://www.3dgameman.com/forums/showthread.php?t=31235

Actually, with a case around 30lbs. dropping it hard flat on the side do cause damage that is unseen from the packaing outside. Trust me, I know. Plus, quality control or not, the chassis part of the TJ05 is made out of molds and tooling so if the alignment problem is really that bad, it...

Arctic Alumina or Arctic Silver 5?

Ceramiqué gets my vote also because it is very easy to clean and performs better than alumina and about the same as AS5 for me.

SFF Hornet Pro PC from Monarch Computers

p0b0ye, what is your system configuration? From the Maximum PC review, it appears the Hornet Pro 64 had no problems with handling the heat as the fans automatically increases speed under load.

Cooling a Silverstone Temjin 5

If Anandtech's own review of the case is true, then it should already have plenty of cooling with the included 120mm fans. I'd wait until you have the system installed after the case arrives before buying additional fans.

Coolermaster releases RealPower series, I say ripoff of Fortron and Antec

Cooler Master power supplies are not Fortron or Antec, they are made by AcBel: http://www.acbel.com This is supposedly a pretty good OEM company with good track record for building desktop power supplies. I guess it's okay for people to mistaken who the real manufacturer is for Cooler...

Opinions on a couple of cases

Maybe you should give Cooler Master another call to let them know that the interior of their aluminum cases are not anondized, but rather chromate treated, there is a big difference. :D The side/top panels and the front are indeed anodized though. I think the Wave Master looks great as well...

Of the three you mentioned, go for the Enermax Noisetaker. It has dual +12V rails which is more advanced and will last you longer thru future upgrades. If my experience serves me right, it is probably the quietest of the three as well. SilverStone's 460W (they don't have 480W) power is also...

I have a V1100 here at work. The included ADDA 120mm fans are not noticeable in an office environment, but if you are going to use it in your bedroom and/or sensitive to noise, you can always swap with quieter fans. As for power supply, just make sure to get PS2 sized units 150x86x140mm...

Lian-Li PC-V1000

I think all of the new Lian-Li V-series are great (especially the ones with front doors) and are well worth their prices IMHO. But again, that is just me.

Trying to decide on a case

Why recommend the Stacker when 3 out of 7 of SocceRich20's requirements aren't met? I think the SilverStone TJ05 is closer to what you are looking for, it has everything you wanted except that it is half aluminum/steel.

what do you guys think of these cases

Somehow I have a feeling that with the slow intake fans they include, SilverStone's small vents on the front panel aren't doing much harm to airflow anyways. The fans that make the biggest difference in overall system temperature are still the exhaust fans. On pure value alone, I would go with...

Falcon's new FragBox

The FragBox 2 is indeed a bit bigger than a normal SFF, but it is about the same size as Antec Aria and Monarch's Hornet Pro. I would say this is a very nice achievement especially when the other two cases don't have room for a standard ATX power supply.

is 1.3ghz Pentium M "slow"?

I agree with everyone here. That 1.3GHz Pentium M is the last thing I would worry about. If you have only 256MB of RAM and a 4200rpm hard drive like most laptops, getting more memory and/or getting to a 7200rpm hard drive will make more difference than getting a faster processor.
