Do tweaks for video cards really work?

yeah, i had an LE for a while and the framerate diff in counterstrike was about 3-5fps diff with everything on max performance, as aposed to nothing selected and i was unable to notice much of a picture difference.

GF2 Pro 32 or 64MB?

from what i have understood from friends of mine that are more knowlegable than me, the geforce2 core is unable to utilize more than 32megs of ram. however, i suggest you check overclocking/review sites to get a better idea. www.hardocp.com, tweak3d.com etc.

Dell 20% still valid if you CALL

had to cancle the elsa gf3 the dang thing was backordered till september 3. thats krap, i could drive to the factory myself and get it myself faster than that. probably want everyone to cancel so they wont lose so much money. it worked.

Budget Video Card

i am running 98se too, and i had a radeon le got the cracks etc. and it rolled along pretty nicely. however, i play a lot of CS and the the card seems to struggle somewhat with the new higher poly models and smoke, however, it never droped under 20fps in the most crowded situtations i cant...

How do you measure frame rates in games?

the best way to measure your fps in halflife without costing too many fps in the process is with the command cl_showfps 1. you can get this to automaticlly load everytime CS loads by makeing a autoexec.cfg file and puttng the command cl_showfps 1 in it. www.tweak3d.net/autoexec/halflife gives...

locks up at shutdown screen

i was checking out the network settings (was on the ethernet at my college untill june after which i was forced to switch to 56k) on my 'puter which is running on win98se, didnt change anything, clicked the ok button, for some reason windows felt it nessisary to create a driver info database...
