USB 1.0 only provides 1Mbps or 120KBps. It is not until USB 1.1 for 12Mbps. It will take almost 10min to open a 30MB image file.

Correct way to add an external USB hard drive into an Enclosure pls??

NO JUMPER CHANGE ARE NEEDED. I think now days all hard drives are auto-configured for master or slave by default jumper setting. For external enclosure it should be auto or master I think.

Looking for Reviews on IWILL DPL533

Try one more thing, double check your dib switchs. I had once received a MB with BIOS dib switch setted to clear. It took me several hours to find out.

Question about new AT&T cable service

Actually it is that the MAC address of your cable modem matters. I don't think AT&T is checking NIC's MAC address because firstly I have never given them MAC address information; secondly I am using a router with MAC clone feature and have changed router MAC address several times.

It wouldn't be easy. Firstly those small freezers or refrigerators are not powerful enough to cool a computer and I have not seen one small one uses frost-free technology. Secondly it would be very difficult to make everything air tight after drilling holes everywhere.

Most of these designs have been focusing on cooling the processor. My question is why not cool everything except drives with opennings? The case should be easier to build. But it will use more power, as much as a 25'cu freezer.

Isn't 10MBytes per minute a bit slow for a 10MBiT LAN?

This is a bit too slow. In normal conditions it should take about 3 minutes instead. A 10Mbit network usually provides a throughput about 3-5Mbit. That translates to 400-600kbyte/sec transfer speed. You can go to www.speedguid.net for turnup instructions.

Help networking win2k and win98se

Two possibilities: One is that you don't have anything shared from Win98SE machine; Second is that you somehow disabled "NetBOIS over TCP/IP" on Win2K and Win98SE has NetBEUI protocol installed. So share something from Win98SE and enable "NetBIOS over TCP/IP" on Win2K.

My MB provides options such as WOL HIGH and WOL LOW. That means that a WOL signal could be generated either with a high voltage or low one (ground?!). You might try with different settings. But I have to admit that I have never tried myself.

I would say that TCP/IP performance is just as good as NetBEUI. Only reason that you might need NetBEUI is that some old applications do not support TCP/IP.
