Alternative for WMP11 Media Sharing

from what i've tried the media sharing is a bit buggy on XP WinServ..it works after updating a ton of patches..but it's quite a hassle.. check the net tab for these RTSP/UDP RTSP/TCP HTTP "allow the player to receive multicast..." Proxy should be set at HTTP to Browser RTSP is None...

@billb2 ..already tried it... i could write to the MBR but it still doesn't boot..coz' NTDLR isn't present... @techmanc : the CD worked !! (4 reinstall xp) no offense man, just a joke to de-cramp my head after finally decided to reinstall XP anyway... thanks 4 the replies guys :)

yup, the NIC that connects to the house router is set by DHCP.. while the one that i use to connect to my laptop is set to 192.168.0.1 /255.255.255.0 for subnet also added a DHCP service for assigning IP' to the laptop (dynamic) been tryin all nite, getting tired might be easier just to install...

i have no problem browsing the vista system from the XP box... i have created a power user account on each system... the only problem is i could not browse the shares in the XP box from the Vista System.. it'll always give me an "access denied" error i've also set up the firewall exceptions for...

Router...just got one

routers usually had an html interface setup..usually after i connect all the PC i use one to set-up the router... this is wht i usually have to do: 1. fire up browser 2. put the routers IP address in the url box e.g. (http://192.168.1.1) IP Address usually is 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.1.254...

my friend just went back from sem break... n 4 sum reason his desktop won't boot.... i've tested his system(s) RAM,PSU,VGA on my system n it works okay....i haven't tested his mobo n proc cuz...i don't have an intel proc laying around... and the motherboard type is kinda dodgy...on the board it...

thx a lot guys... but it turns out to be the HDD is failing....my friend didn't told me that one of his hdd had been actin' awry for the last few month...sometimes it's detected...sometimes it's not...i did not suspect that the HDD was the culprit bcoz' of before i install xp i run chkdsk on...

if i can how....not too familiar with macs...the last mac i fiddled with was a g4 so the harddrive and the optic drive failed...replaced the hdd now i need to reinstall..since i can't clone from my original hdd ...since i can't afford replacing the internal optic drive... is it possible to boot...
