I'd say that if this outfit is willing to offer the configuration that you outlined at a pre-defined price - $599 shipped - to anyone who contacted them, it may be appropriate for this forum. In such a case, they should just advertise it as such on their web-site.

I have mixed feelings about this whole episode.
We do a lot of business with Dell - and yes, I realized that this was an error. I fully expected that the deal would be cancelled. But with an estimated shipment date of March 15, it was on March 14 that we got the phone call that our orders had...
Has anyone been able to negotiate a concessional price with Dell for this system? Someone in FW claimed to have done so for $400 more and was then given a 10% discount on the total.
Am wondering if others have done so and how they went about it.
