The 100 FSB was tongue-in-cheek.....would be a minor miracle to have a 766 run with at 1150 (tho it would be sweet). No trouble to get the 766 to boot and run at 83 but it really toasts my D drive. I think I've tracked my problems at 83 FSB to my Promise Ultra 66 card (it doesn't seem to have...

Having the same problem with my 766 celly....75 is fine....83 no end of problems...corrupting both my hard drives...ghosting a 3rd harddrive...etc....guess I'm stuck at 75 unless I can figure out a way to get 100 fsb to boot and get the pci bus closer to spec

Thanks Rand....did a .05v increase via soft menu....booted at 83 FSB without a hitch....now to stress it some and see if it will remain stable...thanks again

Celeron 566 & ASUS S370-DL Slotket Problem (New Thread)

Could someone explain the coppermine/celeron setting on the S370 Slotket? I have a 766 celeron. Is there any advantage to one setting over the other....or worse yet any damage caused by setting one over the other. I ask as I have mine set for celeron and have no problem at default (766) or o/c'd...

Update....have gotten into windows with 83 bus speed but numerous errors (no sound card detected, mouse not detected, though it does work)....temperature read out appears to be the same....again any suggestions welcome....thanks

In the days of the 1 gig plus CPU, this is pretty small stuff but was made an offer on a 766 that was too good to turn down. It runs without a hitch at a FSB of 75 (default values) and will not post at 100 (no suprise). At 83 (default values), it goes thru all the motions (postd, DMI, etc.) but...
