    Well i was thinking more in terms of comparing 50mm 1.8 to L zooms. Its extreamly sharp, but yeah L primes will be sharper. Otherwise they aren't gonna fetch the 10x price my point was, you can get extreamly good quality using a cheap lens.

    Only crop lenses will that issues (ie, the EF-S line). And all canon EF lenses are compatible with 5d m2/m3. I think the folks here recommend L lenses just cuz they are supposed to be high quality... although how high a quality you need is subjective. i know i'm content with the 50mm f/1.8...

    the battery point is extreamly valid. i can take 700+ (haven't maxed it out yet) photo's on one charge using my rebel. i can't even imagine how much a screen would drop that by but it'd be a lot less.

    Your asking a bad question. A pixel 10 times as small would collect the same amount of light only if other factors were 10 times better. And even in that case high ISO noise would be worse on the smaller sensor

    I don't why people make a big deal over the plastic. Lots of really high quality thing are made of plastic. And the 50mm prime, is an extreamly sharp lens. I've been constantly amazed by how good it is.

    but with those lenses, the X pro isn't really gonna be pocketable. Especially if you have to take 3 lenses. Honestly i don't see the point of the X pro. It doesn't have a huge library of lenses, its costs 2 grand, and really its no more portable than a rebel.

    I don't know. No mirrorless will be portable. Just cuz of the size of the lenses is the true bulk. I'd look at the FUJI XS-1 for slightly better IQ than a P&S but still giving you the focal range. To be honest though, a rebel with a 50mm prime is pretty portable and gives you a lot better IQ...

    thats actually something that confuses me for phone cameras. The image on the view finder is sometimes just perfect, and then instead of capturing that, it goes ahead and take a "shot" and messes it up.

    That is quite incorrect. Megapixels has everything to do with digital zoom quality. However, a cell phone camera lens is probably unable to resolve those 8 MP anyway. So in this particular case, OP it wouldn't matter all that much.
