The reason why I'm a little hesitant is that my bro's eMac 1.25GHz G4 seems kind of slow for day to day tasks. I would love to switch back, but I need at least near equivalent performance as my current lappy (t42 @ 1.7 dothan).

New Laptop: ibook G4 or Inspiron 9XXX

I used to own a G3 iBook and a 15" Powerbook. Just as you said great cool looking OS. But, the screen-res is way too low if you care for that sort of thing (which I did). 1024 ain't cutting it anymore for me. A Dell bought at an opportune time with the right deal/coupon will be the better buy.

TV Tuner + LCD - Fuzzy Display

I get that an LCD is only really good at displaying at its native resolution. I guess my question is that when I'm viewing TV full-screen, have I switced to an incredibly low resolution. I've also noticed major ghosting, when I jacked in my Xbox. Doom and other games don't seem to ghost at all...

Pentium M

The Pentium M runs fast and cool. All you can really ask of a laptop cpu. Compared to my P4 2.8 desktop, (I've got a P-M 1.7) I can't 'tell the difference' in day to day use, which is: web surfing, and compiling code.
