[WinXP] cannot see mapped drive in "my computer"

please help, i can map a network drive out to my server in widowsXP pro and it opens up the folder on the server as soon as i make the connection. the problem is when i open up My Computer i do not see the network drive. i can go into My Network Places and navigate to the folder on the server...

i am sure that this has been asked before, but how do you get winxp to refresh the file list when you change cd discs. my system will not refresh at all. i have tried using f5, and restarting with no luck. i have read about a fix or tweak for this but i cannot seem to find it. please help me !!!

In what order am i supposed to install dx8, via4in1's, and my video card drivers?

this is the sort of stuff i do everyday for work. the proper order is : via 4N1 dx8 vid drivers nic drivers sound drivers modem drivers this makes sure that all irq's are set up properly and that the mother is ready to work well with others.
