No sound, please help

I don't know how your boios works...so i can't help you there...try going back to the older settings. If that doesn't work, try going back to the older bios (if you still can) that you had previously. Make sure you have the older settings to. Sorry if i'm not a help..

HELP! my plextor 16x won't burn at 16x anymore.. what gives?

It could be the fact you changed programs, but it shouldn't be. If all else fails, try going back to Easy CD creator. Did this problem start once you changed programs? If it did, it's a coincidence or you need to go back easy cd. Were both cd's always connected from the same cable? Either way...

How to revive the My Documents icon from Desktop

right click on the folder, then go to send to then there'll be an option called "Desktop(Create Shortcut)". Click that and there should be a shortcut on the desktop. This is the way it's done in Win98SE, i'm pretty sure it's done the same way in Win2k.

1) have you installed the drivers? 2) it could be that you didn't put the card in properly, just try taking the card out and then putting it back in. If that doesn't work, try some different slots. 3) check in device manager if your sound card is ok. If there's a red x or a yellow !, that means...

Can't burn a thing with Plextor 12/10/32A!!!!!!

First try what the above post says, then try putting it back to how it was before...slave to hd (primary slave).

floppy drive not working...

I agree with the don't buy ibm...i'm never buying a brand name again...all they have given me are problems. The small companies are more value with better service. So you think theres something wrong with the cable...? Do you mean reverse the cable ends or like reverse the way pin 1 is facing?

nope....that wasn't the problem...i wish i could get the dam drive out of the computer! Oh yeah...;now the green light that indicates data is ALWAYS on...:(

I wanna get rid of this popup at startup

Do what Nevo has said but beware...you are editing the registry if you do so. You could seriously screw something up. But if you know what you're looking for, you'll be fine. Just be careful. Also if you're not completly sure, make a backup of the registry. If you can't fix the problem fromt he...

Adding 60gb drive is it better to copy from old drive or reinstall fresh?

Do what MistaEng has said in his post is it's stable...but i'd reccemend to not delete the data on 40gb drive till your satisfied that everything's running fine.

floppy drive not working...

Last night i put a floppy in my bro's comp to get some data...it started reading the floppy like usual then said the floppy is not formatted, do you want to format now. Since i already had data on the disk, i chose no. Then i tried various other floopies (blanks, full disks, etc) Nothing worked...

Poll: So, will you buy Windows XP when it comes out, or stay with 98/2000?

heh...so many people seem to "borrow" MS OS's...nyways....i simply don't see the reason to update whenever Bill Gates feels he doesn't have enough mola. I'm on 98se/Linux and the 98SE wouldn't be there if it wasn't for windows only apps and school projects.
